Job Description
A central leadership role to support, serve and lead IAM’s Human Resources functions across all programmes and offices in Herat, Kabul, Kandahar, Mazar and the central Highlands. This is a new position. The role will provide strategic leadership to HR offices by facilitating communication between offices and supporting and developing personnel working in HR.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
Leadership and support of project and office HR departments:
Create a mutually supportive HR Department across projects and offices for group support, growth and learning.
Work with HR personnel or leadership in projects and offices to improve HR functions where necessary.
Strategic planning with HR personnel across the organization to ensure HR continues to support IAM programming and develops as needed.
Monitor staff well-being and help HR staff to promote motivation and retention of staff where needed.
Training:
Working with others to meet organization wide training needs in a relevant and economically viable manner.
Maintaining Data:
Working with project and office managers to first develop and then ensure that IAM’s central personnel database is up-to-date and secure.
Policy Facilitation:
Working with project and office personnel to ensure IAM’s policies are accessible understood and complied with by all staff.
External relations
Inter-agency co-ordination meeting and representing IAM at government ministries as needed.
Job Requirement
Qualifications:
Understanding and passion for IAM core values (available on the job description
Masters in HR management or relevant university degree
Proven experience in Human Resource, training and administration work in the NGO sector
Willingness and ability to travel to all IAM regions on a regular basis.
Excellent English
Computer Literate - minimum standard of Word and Excel skills required
Experience of teaching and familiarity with personality profile tests such as StrengthsFinder and Myers Briggs an advantage.
