Job Description
JEAO seeks a professional HRO to oversee recruitment, retention, benefits, payroll, employee training, employee relations, performance management, diversity, equity, inclusion, and human resource policies under the management of the Executive Director / Director and Program Manager.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans.
- Evaluate current HR processes, including recruiting and hiring, and support for departments during these processes to identify JEAO system improvement opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate policy, practice, and resource changes to management and employees.
- Provide newly recruited staff with orientation information on their remunerations / benefits in close coordination with the Program Manager.
- Advise Provincial Coordinators and staff on training policy and procedures. Assist them in identification of training opportunities and advise on staff development initiatives.
- Ensure time sheets are collected, authorized, and maintained.
- Keeps JEAO leadership team advised on trends, issues, and areas of concern.
- Participates in organization strategy and planning meetings, works closely with JEAO leadership team to ensure the application of human resource policies and programs, and works to provide a positive team member experience.
- Works with JEAO program and other departments for staffing and retention needs, including creating and revising job descriptions and assisting with offer terms. Moreover, Human Resource Officer manages, facilitates, and resolves complex employee relations issues of varying complexity.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of team members, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance in JEAO, and monitors compliance regarding legal and government regulations affecting human resources, health, and safety.
- Support the performance and talent management cycle by partnering with managers on an as-needed basis to handle succession planning needs and requirements, answer performance questions, issues, and processes, supporting and provide guidance on the promotion process, particularly during end-of-year timing.
- Manage all phases of full-cycle recruiting, from initial sourcing and screening through offer negotiations, placement, and onboarding.
- Keeping Record of All personal files both short term and Regular.
- Ensure staff records are complete and available for inspection.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line supervisor.
Job Requirement
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business administration, public administration, economics, or another related social science discipline is required; a Master's degree in human resources or a closely related field is preferable.
Experience:
- The applicant should have four years of experience in human resources management.
- Hands-on experience using human resources principles and techniques, including hiring, labor relations, organizational development, and change management.
- Knowledge of various labor relations techniques, personnel management techniques, and supervisory principles and practices.
- Knowledge of the creation, application, and evaluation of organizational-wide policies.
