Job Description

Job summary:

Within an IOM-funded project and under the direct supervision of the project manager, the Marketing Trainer/Consultant is supposed to assist the selected businesses (SMEs) in terms of business assessment, marketing strategy development, training, and other related tasks that will help the SMEs be more stable and generate more income.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of the selected SMEs and find their strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop marketing and branding strategy for the assessed business(es)
  • Conduct marketing and branding training
  • On the job training for staff and owners of SMEs, if and when required
  • Support businesses in the target provinces by enhancing their capacity in marketing, promotional tools, and branding.
  • Support businesses with useful, globally recognized models for operating a quality management system and attractive brandings.
  • Enable the businesses, maintain and regularly enhance product quality, diversification, and best packaging to attract customers.
  • Boost the goodwill of the enterprises. Goodwill could be in form of products quality, product branding, brand name, rise in sale or more promotion of product of a company.
  • Offer confidence to internal management as well as other workers that requirements for quality are being fulfilled and maintained, and that quality improvement is taking place.
  • Increase competitiveness and credibility by applying marketing tactics and improving the packaging and product quality.
  • Demonstrate the market compliance that enables exporters to reduce the cost of compliance and facilitate access to global markets.
  • Strengthen the competitiveness of the businesses and enhance their integration into the regional and international trading system.
  • Any other tasks guided by the Project Manager

Job Requirement

  • Master degree in the related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor degree in the related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with SMEs
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good familiarity with computer (word, excel and ppt)
  • Evidence of problem solving, demonstrating initiative, creative thinking, and unconventional approaches to work essential
  • Professional in English and Dari/Pashto
  • Ability to motivate businesses to apply new knowledge
  • Ability to work long hours, often under pressure
  • Able to travel to districts and villages if required
  • Very good communication skills
