About ANAFAE: The Afghan National Association for Adult Education (ANAFAE), founded in September 2005, with the support of DVV International works to foster the development of local Adult and Community Learning Centers, promotes education strategies and programs for disadvantages groups, young adults, with a particular focus on literacy, basic education, education for employability and lifelong learning. Women in Afghanistan experienced tremendous burden throughout the last decades of conflicts. Their education is traditionally neglected. In many rural areas only about eight percent of the women are literate. In the literacy programs of ANAFAE and its partner DVV International, female participants learn reading, writing and numeracy, reflect on their role in the family and community, deal with health and hygiene topics and develop ideas for their own economic activities. These literacy programs have a direct and positive effect on personal development, on family health and on school attendance of children, they empower women who suffered most or support the reintegration of returnees and IDPs.

Job Description

Overall responsibilities:

 X-pert Project Assistant is assigned to assist the learning centers under supervision of X-pert Project Officer and reports to not only the project officer but also to ANAFAE Logistic, Finance, Admin, HR and Program departments based on the following assigned duties.

Financial tasks:

  • To keep records of all separated cash books, transactions of Core and related projects
  • To register X-pert cash received from learner’s contributions in the X-pert safe from Saturday to Thursday of the week and deposit the registered amount to ANAFAE INCOME bank account over 10,000 AFN.
  • To request monthly PRF for all Cash Books expenses of the running month, on 24th of every month.
  • To maintain and process office Cashbox and send monthly financial report to Kabul Finance department according to the field financial manual.
  • To pay out teacher’s monthly percentage, honorarium after completion of documents according to the teacher payment cycle and percentage.
  • To clear all financial activities with ANAFAE Finance department, HR department and all other related departments on monthly basis at the Kabul Program and Coordination Office.
  • To update learner’s income information in specific formats.
  • To maintain and process monthly income form library, and teacher’s payment report and submit it to Kabul Finance Department during the monthly clearance.

Administrative Tasks:

  • To organize, dispatch and directly supervise the work of the technical staff such as guards, cleaners and book sellers.
  • To fill and process the monthly purchase request forms in close coordination with the X-pert project officer and submit it on 24th of each month to Program Manager in ANAFAE Main Office.
  • To register new students based on their learning needs and demands in relevant register book as well as computer.
  • To update all learners’ information on monthly basis, based on the formats.
  • To keep the inventory, list up to date and send reports to ANAFAE Main Office.
  • To file all documents of X-pert in a proper way according to the filling system.
  • To keep the list of part time and full time employment documents update and present a monthly report to the Kabul HR department for any changes occurred during the month.
  • To get X-pert staff signatures on the monthly time sheets and pay slip as received from the Kabul HR and Finance and send them back to ANAFAE Main Office Finance and HR departments.

Other Supportive roles:

  • To directly assist the X-pert Project Officer in overall management of activities.
  • To organize the marketing and advertisements for the education services of X-pert.
  • To fulfill other duties as assigned by X-pert Project Officer, X-perts Program Manager, Finance, HR / Logistic and Inventory Departments.

Job Requirement

The Applicant should have At least 2-3 years of experience in Finance, Administration, and/or Management.

The applicant should have a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Education, Economics, Public Relations or relevant/higher education is most preferable.

The ability to think creatively, work in a team, and perform under strict deadlines and challenging circumstances is crucial.  Knowledge in education promotion and skills development training is desirable. Excellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.  Good level of computer literacy i.e. MS Office packages etc. Ability to participate effectively in complex teams of various expertise.
