As a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), RAADA began working in Herat province and extended its activities to western Afghanistan (Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Badghis provinces). Job Description

The Admin-Finance officer will serve as the RAADA Admin-Finance department's focal point for the project's administrative and finance-related activities in Balkh provinces.

The officer will work closely with the RAADA Admin-Finance department and project team. They will be responsible for the effective administration and handling of financial tasks and reporting, by following the organization's relevant policies, strategies, and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Financial record-keeping
  • Preparing and processing vouchers, reviewing bills, and allocating them to their relevant project budget line and codes.
  • Monitoring and posting of transactions to the accounting package.
  • Preparing financial reports for the project as per the RAADA and donor requirements 
  • Communication and handling the bank and suppliers' related issues
  • Direct reporting to RAADA's Finance Manager or their designated person
  • Monthly tax reports and payments to the Government
  • Prepare and maintain cash books & bank books
  • Preparing cash and Bank Reconciliations
  • Maintain accounting-related data and documents in the hard and soft filing system
  • Provide necessary documents and reports for internal controlling
  • Designing monthly liquidation plans in close coordination with the RAADA's Admin-Finance Manager
  • Facilitating necessary coordination & communication with related staff
  • Supervise support staff (Cleaners, cooks, and drivers); and suggest ways to bring efficiency to their work and monitor their performance
  • To follow and maintain documents (such as rental contracts, rental payment invoices, tax payments invoices, breaking contracts, ticket bills, and other documents) recorded in their folders regularly
  • Ensure that all rental and utility bill payments are processed on time
  • To ensure all legal obligations of the office (rental agreement, maintenance contracts) are fulfilled and renewed promptly
  • To control the recording and updating of the inventory of the fixed assets of the office
  • Prepare the Staff monthly payroll, pay slips, and attendance forms

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor or higher degree in a "Finance & Administration" related field from an approved university
  • Administration, Finance, and Accounting knowledge
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience with NGO projects in the same position
  • Computer skills (MS Excel and QuickBooks)
  • Proficiency in English and other local languages (writing & speaking)
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
  • Professionalism in appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to travel to the project-targeted districts and villages
