Job Description
Position Summary:
The Finance Officer will help manage budgets, financial records, and compliance with policies and donor requirements. They handle cash transactions, oversee accounts, monitor cash flow, and prepare financial reports. Additionally, they coordinate with staff, ensure tax compliance, support audits.
Reports to: Finance Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
Help develop and manage the organization's budgets and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and donor requirements.
Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions.
Handle cash transactions, maintain petty cash, and ensure proper documentation.
Monitor cash flow and ensure availability of funds for operational needs.
Conduct regular financial audits and reconciliations.
Coordinate with program staff for budget allocations and expenditures.
Ensure timely submission of financial reports to donors and stakeholders.
Manage bank accounts and oversee financial transactions.
Support procurement processes by ensuring proper financial documentation.
Assist in the preparation of grant applications and funding proposals.
Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
Safeguard the organization's financial assets and resources.
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Job Requirement
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field Master’s degree is preferred
Proven work experience of 3 years in related field, preferably in NGO.
Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks is a must.
Excellent proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, Dari, Pashto.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
