Job Description
General Position Summary
The M &E assistant is responsible for preparing required questioners for baseline survey and other assessments, develop and maintain, interview questioners for baseline survey and updating data in the M&E developed database. Prepare monthly and quarterly monitoring plan and ensure its implementation, conduct regular field visit for monitoring the activities such as Cereal crop, Saffron, Vegetable, poultry production and so, at the targeted district. Prepare success stories, good practices at field level to be sued for progress reports, the M &E assistant must have experiences of working with community specifically the farmers for conducting meeting and discussion and willing for regular traveling to all targeted districts. Coordination and provide assistant to the project manager and other team members for successful and efficient completion of the project.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure close communication and coordination with project team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with developing standard M&E instruments such as interview questioners for baseline survey and updating data in the M&E developed database.
- Conduct training to explain the M&E procedure to the project staff.
- Development of monthly and quarterly monitoring plan and ensure its implementation.
- Regular field visit for monitoring the activities (Cereal crop, Saffron, Vegetable, poultry production and other planed activities under the project) at the targeted district.
- Prepare success stories, good practices, and critical learnt from lessons to be used for progress reports and evaluation of the project.
- Analyze risks and assist the project manager to take proactive role in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure monitoring reports are timely produced and shared with the project manager and other team members.
- Work closely with project team to collect, collate, analyze, and present information on project outputs and outcomes to be used for reporting.
- Support the project manager and other project staff for providing the date information and required forms.
- Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor degree in agriculture, economic with experiences on M & E.
- At least five years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
- Good communication skills in English and fluency in Pashtoo and Dari.
- Ability to work effectively with other project staff and proven analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, handle tasks simultaneously, and to work under pressure.
- Experience in monitoring of projects in remote areas and familiar with the targeted areas of Kandahar province.
- High quality of reporting skills.
