Job Description

The Food and Security Manager  (based in Uruzgan ) will oversee the implementation of livelihoods and food security programmes in the Uruzgan province, under the country office’s Food Security Manager with close coordination of regional and provincial manager. The Food and Security Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Food and Security Manager in the South. He/ she will work under the close technical guidance of the Livelihoods and Food Security Specialist in Kabul. He/ She will also work very closely with ANCC other units in South (in particular the Education, WASH, FSAC and Shelter units), to implement joint programmes.

Job Requirement

Key Responsibilities as member of ANCC:

  1. Read understand and apply HR Management policy and manual
  2. Read, understand and apply the Program Management Policy and Manual
  3. Adherence to ANCC policies, guidance and procedures
  4. Review and prepare projects progress reports for donors and ANCC HQ office
  5. Maintain close coordination with provincial manager and regional manager to ensure synergy for organization development
  6. Contribute to food security and livelihood projects and provide input on need and gaps
  7. Provide regular progress report to line manager, on weekly, monthly, and quarterly bases
  8. Ensure all project components are carrying out based on project LOA, timeline, plan and ensure to fulfil the donor requirements as mentioned in the Contract.
  9. Fully understand and regularly observe the documentation of FAO projects and provide inputs in case of gap or anything is against the standard operating procedures (SOP) of ANCC or donors
  10. Responsible to follow up reported challenges and ensure the solutions are addressed as well as maintain transparency and accountability as well as report line manger in case of any issue in the project
  11. Coordinate with other relevant donors in the Uruzgan province to implement livelihoods and food security projects and provide update to regional office if required
  12. Support food security manager-Kabul with respect to data sharing, data comprehension, arranging necessary documents, and integrity
  13. Ensure coordination with relevant governmental department, donor, and etc.
  14. Prepare the beneficiaries profile survey (BPS) report of FAO projects on timely manner as well as PDM report in case if required for the project
  15. Ensure that project target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and assess
  16. Ability to work under pressure, cooperative and helpful attitude, and willingness to work outside normal business hours as needed
  17. Politically and culturally sensitive, awareness of gender issues, with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  18. A willingness to work as part of a team in a complex and insecure environment and prepare to in uncertain security environments.
