Job Purpose:

The transport officer is responsible for the organizing and follow up shipment process and coordinating overall transport issues to ensure it happening in timely manner. This includes shipments, movement’s management, and other relevant reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Transport office TOR:

• Coordinate with GG central and provincial level department concern staff to determine transport requirements and schedule transport to meet them.
• Assist with assessments of local transportation resources and the contracting of transportation issues .
• Regular conduct with transportation companies for on time movements to central and provincial level .
• Ensure all the transportation companies have an up-to-date and proper license
• Coordinate the movement of vehicles and other transportation assets;
• Maintain daily duty rosters of drivers and dispatch vehicles daily. Prepare weekly schedules for transportation companies .
• Submit regular and comprehensive monthly reports to the supervisor on vehicle movements and problems.
• Keep documents current such as registration, insurance, vehicle logs, daily inspection reports, etc.
• Implementation of Transport policy approved by management.
• Conducting inspections of vehicle interiors and exteriors for any damage or defects that could cause safety concerns during travel.
• Preparing and process of transportation companies payments
• Providing information (from logbooks (running sheets), vehicle booking records and other sources) to their local delegate
• Take all logistic companies numbers, address with drivers phone queries.
• Filings of all concern documents soft and hard
• Regular conduct with transporting companies for on time goods movements .
