About Organization of Human Welfare (OHW): The Organization of Human Welfare (OHW) is a non-governmental organization and is non-political, not-for-profit, and impartial organization with no bias towards a particular religion, ethnicity, or political belief. It has its own independent legal status and entity. OHW is operating since 2007 in the country with active membership with the national clusters and international donor agencies in Afghanistan including SWABAC, ACBAR, AICS, BAAG, AWN and most of the national and international Clusters operates based in Afghanistan.

Job Description

The Case Management worker will play a crucial role in the implementation of the child protection project in Balkh Province, Afghanistan. Working as a team, the CM worker will be responsible for providing comprehensive case management services to children and families, ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to necessary support services.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough assessments of children's needs and risks, using standardized tools and protocols.
  2. Develop individualized case plans in collaboration with children and their families, identifying goals and appropriate interventions.
  3. Coordinate and facilitate access to essential services, such as healthcare, education, psychosocial support, and legal assistance.
  4. Provide ongoing support and guidance to children and families throughout the case management process, ensuring their active participation and empowerment.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the progress of cases, regularly reviewing and updating case plans as needed.
  6. Maintain accurate and confidential case records, ensuring compliance with OHW's guidelines and data protection policies.
  7. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations, to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
  8. Conduct home visits and follow-up meetings to assess the well-being and safety of children and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
  9. Provide crisis intervention and support to children and families in emergency situations.
  10. Advocate for the rights and best interests of children, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in decision-making processes.
  11. Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and capacity-building activities to enhance professional development and knowledge sharing.
  12. Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in the field of case management and child protection, and apply this knowledge to enhance program effectiveness.
  13. Support the integration of gender-transformative approaches and promote gender equality within the child protection project.
  14. Assist in the coordination and implementation of child protection campaigns and events.
  15. Act as a resource person for other project staff, providing guidance and support on case management principles and practices.
  16. Collaborate with the MHPSS Counsellor and other project staff to provide comprehensive support to children and families.
  17. Assist in the development and implementation of training programs on case management for project staff and partners.
  18. Ensure compliance with OHW's code of conduct, child safeguarding policies, and other relevant guidelines throughout all activities.
  19. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and community members, promoting a child-centered and participatory approach.
  20. Act as a role model for positive parenting practices and promote positive discipline techniques within the community.

Job Requirement

  1. A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  2. Previous experience in case management or social work, preferably in child protection or related fields.
  3. Strong knowledge of case management principles, child rights, and international standards.
  4. Familiarity with the cultural context and dynamics of Balkh Province is highly desirable.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with children, families, and stakeholders.
  6. Ability to work effectively as a team and demonstrate flexibility in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  7. Fluency in English, Pashto and Dari is required, both written and spoken.
