Context: Under the overall supervision of Head of Resources Management and the direct supervision of the Resources Management Officer (Grants & Compliance) and in close coordination with relevant Units at Country Office. The Grants & Compliance Associate will be responsible and accountable to support the institutional compliance with IOM rules, regulations and policies through regular cross-functional reporting on compliance-related issues of concern to address recommendations made in external and internal audits and other internal and external Organization-wide reviews.
Job Description
- Support due diligence exercises and assessments conducted towards potential or current implementing partners by providing inputs, relevant documentation and guidance to offices
- Anticipate future external audits, verifications, and assessments in relation to the implementing partnerships management and plan accordingly by preparing the repository of relevant documentation ensuring completeness of data
- Contribute to the review of external audit reports and Due Diligence exercises relevant to the Implementing Partnerships and, where required, in coordination with various relevant Units at Country Office, have the institutional response validated by the supervisor
- Contribute to a proactive dissemination of lessons learned from external audits and compliance reviews, make suggestions for incorporation of those into the policy, guidelines and related training material
- Based on the relevant policy and guidelines, prepare training materials on Implementing Partnerships Management and conduct training of relevant staff in field offices.
- Collect, check and compile data from the relevant working groups, offices, units and departments as requested by the supervisor and maintain relevant repositories of collected data
- Proactively contribute to the development of the periodic reports, statistical information, and project monitoring relevant to donor-specific mandates
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirement
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, Humanitarian Studies, Business Administration, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with (3) three years of relevant professional experience.
Or
- High School diploma with (5) five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience with IOM or UN agency in providing support, project management or information management is an advantage.
- Experience and strong knowledge of humanitarian principles, IOM rules and regulations, and IOM project development is an advantage
- Experience in liaising with government authorities, other national/international institutions and donors.
SKILLS
- Very good familiarity with the broad range of migration and related subject areas dealt with by the IOM
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming
- Skills in the usage of office software packages, spreadsheets and data analysis
- Experience with creation and maintenance of SharePoint pages
- Demonstrated excellent writing and communication skills
Languages
- For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
- Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is advantages.
