Job Description

  • Translate a wide range of written products, including reports, training materials, technical documents, and communication materials, for non-technical and technical audiences. 
  • Translate text for infographics, charts, maps, PowerPoint presentations, and other visual content, for non-technical and technical audiences. 
  • Proof of read and edit the translated materials to ensure quality and adherence with iMMAP branding guidelines and policies. 
  • Ensure accuracy, coherence, and consistency in translated content, maintaining the original meaning and technical terminology. 
  • Stay abreast of relevant technical concepts and terminology, in both source and target languages. 
  • Coordinate translation projects with different units of the organization, to assess specific requirements, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. 
  • Perform additional duties as may be assigned by the Operation Coordinator, Technical Advisor, and Country Representative.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in translation.  
  • Academic degree in a relevant field, and certification or accreditation in translation, are considered an asset. 
  • Proficiency in English, Dari, and Pashto languages, both written and spoken.  
  • Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and vocabulary in English, Dari, and Pashto languages. 
  • Familiarity with concepts and terminology relevant to humanitarian sector jargon, data sciences, or a related technical field preferred.   
  • Experience working with humanitarian or development organizations, and familiarity with concepts and terminology frequently used in humanitarian action is preferred.
