Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop an annual internal audit plan.
- Identify, collect, and analyze information needed to prepare risk-based internal audit plans.
- Complete risk assessment and draft internal audit checklist.
- Reviewing of HR Department documents (staff Personal files, contracts and recruitment process) based on YHDO HR Policy and procedure.
- Review of Procurement department payments and Documents to ensure it is based on YHDO policy and procedure.
- Verification of Payments to supplier and participants during project audit.
- Conduct audit fieldwork/ execution at national and provincial levels.
- Draft internal audit report to discuss with auditee (YHDO Officials).
- Routine monthly vouching for all YHDO projects.
- Conduct an internal audit of the sub-grantees of YHDO as per the internal audit plan.
- To coordinate and assist the internal auditor as a focal point for the external auditor.
- Coordinate and assist the internal auditor in providing pieces of training for YHDO staff.
- Conduct follow-up of the audit reports/ audit observations implementation and maintain follow-up database.
- Preparing and implementing of “follow-up action plan” about external auditors/monitors’ observations and recommendations.
- Conduct field visits for audit-related works.
- Assisting in drafting monthly and annual reports on activities and results of the internal audit activities.
- Ensure audit processes developed are followed while performing audit works.
- Make sure that the internal audit unit through adequate coverage of audit helps YHDO in the achievement of its objective
- Safeguard audit files and other documents, and assets available to the internal audit department.
- Contribute to an analysis of risk factors to prepare the annual Internal Audit Plan.
- Conduct entry meetings to review the purpose, scope of work, and methodology, and to set expectations for communications during the audit fieldwork.
- Conduct exit meetings to review all findings and discuss additional training needs.
- Draft thorough and timely internal audit reports and communications on the results of work performed, including potential recommendations for improvements and training for review by the supervisor, who will share it with relevant colleagues in the organization, as appropriate.
- Alert supervisor, and others as necessary, to any organizational conflicts of interest or other significant internal controls or compliance issues.
- Prepare corrective action plans (CAP) resulting from audit/review findings in coordination with main and provincial offices. Validate and follow-up implementation of CAP.
- Review the office’s financial statements audit and other external reviews/audits
- Perform desk reviews of provincial offices or sub-grantees, as requested.
- Coordinate with relevant colleagues (which may include HQ & donors, provincial offices, and external auditors) to monitor donor-required audits of sub-grantees.
- Any other assign duty and task by the line manager
Job Requirement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in finance & related departments, experience in Finance, audit, and risk management.
- Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari
- At least 2 years of recent experience in finance/ audit/risk management or A minimum of 2 years of teaching/training experience in mentioned related fields.
- Exceptional communicator (both verbal and written)
- Skilled in planning, organizing, delivering, and evaluating specific instructional content
- Confident, engaging, enthusiastic, and dynamic presenter
- Passionate about fostering relationships with Employees
- Ability to work under challenging work situations.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work as an individual and in a team.
- Knowledge of MS Office, data processing, analysis, and graphic presentation
- Team building, leadership, and organizational skills with analytical skills and the capacity to multitask.
