About Bilim Organization for Research and Social Studies: BILIM Organization for Research and Social Studies is an independent nongovernment and non-profit organization providing research and training services in social science with a specific focus on education, migration, culture, public administration, and governance in Afghanistan. Bilim's vision is to advance knowledge, awareness, and perception of the public, organizations, and government agencies of real-world challenges. We envision being an effective liaison between the public and policymaking bodies by generating accurate evidence-based scientific data on the thematic area of social science. Our mission is to promote and advance quality research and data-driven knowledge in education, migration, culture, public administration, and governance. We conduct rigorous research and generate scientific knowledge for inclusive and operational decision-making.
Job Description
- Project Design: Develop and design research projects, including identifying research questions, objectives, and methodologies, and establishing project timelines and budgets.
- Project Management: Oversee all aspects of research projects, including managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, as well as supervising and supporting research staff.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including research partners, donors, government officials, and community members, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met.
- Research Implementation: Coordinate and manage the implementation of research studies, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing research findings, including detailed descriptions of research methods, data analysis, and interpretation of results, that can be shared with a variety of stakeholders, including academic and non-academic audiences.
- Communication: Communicate project progress and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences, including writing academic papers, presenting at conferences, and engaging with policymakers.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of research data, results, and publications, through peer review, methodological checks, and other quality control measures.
- Budget Management: Manage project budgets, including tracking expenditures and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Capacity Building: Provide training and capacity building to research staff and stakeholders, to build their skills and expertise in research.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that research projects align with organizational goals and objectives.
Job Requirement
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as business, management, or project management.
Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in project management, preferably in a research or scientific environment.
Project management skills: Strong project management skills to plan, organize, and manage research projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
Leadership skills: Strong leadership skills to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage conflicts, and ensure project objectives are met.
Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
Technology proficiency: Proficiency in using project management software and familiarity with research tools such as SurveyMonkey or Qualtrics.
Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills to review project data and make informed decisions based on the results.
Budget management skills: Ability to manage project budgets, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Risk management skills: Ability to identify and mitigate project risks, develop contingency plans, and resolve issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Client management skills: Ability to manage client relationships, provide updates on project progress, and ensure client satisfaction.
