About Loy Kandahar Reconstruction Organization (LKRO): Organization’s History and Background: LKRO is a national NGO established in 1992 and registered with Ministry of Economy under License No.183 and is an active member of ACBAR and SWABAC NGOs Coordinating Bodies. LKRO has currently presence in 18 provinces of Afghanistan and has completed more than 185 large, small and medium size projects in the last 27 years of its operation in Afghanistan. These are in the sectors of health (disability, nutrition, health education etc.), sustainable community development, Livelihood, Youth Empowerment, Child Protection, Research Studies, Education, Environment and Capacity Building of CDCs, DDA, Youths and Governmental Employees. Most of these projects/programs were funded by the UN agencies such as UNDP, UNOPS, UNHCR, WFP, WHO, UNICEF and Government such as MRRD, NEPA along with other international donor organizations such as ICA, IOM, TDH, Japan Embassy (GAGP Unit), Oxfam, Action Aid, Counterpart International, Caritas-Cordaid and SC.

Job Description:

Develop the agenda, detailed programme and methodology using an experiential approach for the workshops

Draft a preliminary overall design of the teacher education workshop covering methods to be adopted ensuring that they are interactive and provide hands-on learning experience; the design will be based on design-thinking process of exploring the issue, identifying possible solutions, designing prototypes, and presenting concept to peers;

Prepare activities, presentations and other materials to ensure interactivity and team building during the workshops;

Design the format of the meeting sessions;

Work with the county team leader to ensure that training and other education support activities in the field are conducted to high standards and as per the work plan

Conduct these and other tasks as required in support of project goals

Send reports to area/capital office and relevant departments in a timely manner.

Design and deliver components of the workshop if necessary;

Prepare and deliver session(s) on Innovating for Sustainable Development, Social Innovation and Design Thinking, and some other technical Sessions related to critical thinking, project management, leadership including activities and exercises to ensure interactivity.

Facilitate on-the-job experiential learning opportunities with district education officers and teachers

Facilitate county level and cluster-level workshops with teachers and principals on ALP teaching, learning and assessment materials

Perform other duties requested by his/her supervisor

Job Requirement

Job Requirements:

University degree in Education or related field.

3 years of experience in facilitating of teaching and training projects with International NGOs or UN Agencies is preferred.

Good Oral and Written skills in Pashto and Dari as well in English.

Ability to work in multi-cultural environment

Ability to travel within project coverage districts & other provinces as needed

Compliance Policies: Child safeguarding and code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery and Fraud

Proficiency in the use of computer office applications and email, especially office program.

Ability to regularly travel to the project sites for doing fieldwork.

Design/Lesson Plan for workshop in draft;

Pre-workshop meetings;

Workshop facilitation and follow-up for the national workshop;

Workshop support facilitation and follow-up for the regional workshop;

Workshops reports summarizing discussions, participant feedback and proposed way forward/ action points covering the three Workshop objectives.

Should be familiar with the area’s culture, traditions, and sensitivities.
