GENERAL DUTIES

• May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Risk Awareness and Safer behaviours (RASB)

• Plans RASB activities according to guidelines and community’s needs in accordance with the RASB Delegate and Protection coordinator in Kandahar.
• Collects and compiles WeC-related information: contaminated areas, type of contamination, incidents in Kandahar AoR. Uploads the device Magic WEC dashboard accordingly.
• Supports the Protection department in supporting victims of explosive ordnance. Participates in interviews with victims, follow up on support provided and provides with RASB awareness materials.
• Accompanies field visits, deliver the Risk Awareness to the beneficiaries where applicable.
• Coordinates activities with regards to WeC Risk Awareness with other organizations (ARCS, UN, NGOs, etc)
• In coordination with the WeC Delegate, ensure, that all RASB activities and plans are implemented, monitored and evaluated. Writes reports when requested.

2. Capacity building of the Afghan Red Crescent Society and authorities

• Contributes to building the capacity of the national authorities and the ARCS.
• Follows up, monitors and reports on all tasks assigned to the ARCS teams as mentioned in the Cooperation agreement.
• Supports the implementation of integrated monitoring and evaluation tools, strategies, approaches and methodology for ARCS in Kandahar and branches.
• Provide timely, clear and concise reporting in accordance with the established reporting system and formats related to ARCS Cooperation agreement.

3. Staff safety and operational continuity

• Delivers WEC staff safety training to the ICRC staff, partners and beneficiaries when requested.
• Develops and maintains contacts with the authorities at local and district levels.
• Gathers information regarding Mine Action actors including national authority actors.   

4. Transversal duties

• Monitors and evaluates the impact of WEC activities through follow up visits.
• Translates/interprets as required.
• Develops and maintains contacts with relevant authorities at local level.
• Obtains all required authorizations – administration, police, military and authorities and establish community liaison for WEC related activities. 
• Perform any other tasks as directed by Kandahar SD management, in coordination with the WEC department.
