About Danner Afghanistan for Women Empowerment Organization (DAWEO): DAWEO is a Local Organisations supporting Afghan Women though providing capacity building sessions. DAWEO was initially established as a local office of the Danish NGO Danner, who has worked with VAW survivors for more than 40 years through shelter activities and political policy work in Denmark. DAWEO’s overall mission is to support women and girls who are victims of war and other forms of violence, through providing services, capacity building initiatives, public awareness in psycho-social issues, spreading legal awareness and other services related to gender-based violence issues. DAWEO is looking for a Provincial Manger who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Family Resource Center (FRC) including planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Under supervision of Executive Director, the Provincial Manager is tasked to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the project and support DAWEO.
The primary functions of the Provincial Manger include but are not limited to:
- Overall management of the project in close coordination with the executive director
- Ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the Family Resource Center (FRC)
- Support processes and partner involvement in (FRC) implementation.
DAWEO under UN-WOMEN funded project establishing and operation women protection center in Bamiyan Province. under direct supervision of DAWEO executive director is responsible to carry out all duties and responsibilities with direct supervision of executive director. Ensure that all activities are following UN-WOMEN and DAWEO regulation, policies and Family Resource Center (FRC) objectives key responsibilities are as follows:
Main duties and assignments:
- Provide a good work atmosphere and team collaboration among the project staff in Family Resource Center (FRC)
- Hold constant coordination meetings with the project staff and guide them through formal rules of the project, and also hold tight coordination with the project stakeholders.
- Supervise the Family Resource Center (FRC) on daily basis to ensure that the services are provided to the survivors in line with the contractual provision and project activities.
- Organize and participates DoWA meetings with coordination of DoWA.
- Prepare monthly progress report and any other reports require to be submitted to the stakeholders.
- Maintain close coordination among (FRC) in terms of survivors’ admission, exchanging cases, survivors’ personal files, reporting and procurement.
- Maintain a good filing system according to the organization’s documentation policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper collecting and providing information of beneficiaries and support them until their stay at the (FRC) Supervise all activities, staff and beneficiaries.
- Support the beneficiaries to achieve their rights, in accordance with (FRC) regulation and DAWEO policies.
- Coordinate with local authorities, donor, related NGOs and other stakeholders
- Ensure that project staff receive an appropriate orientation in order to implement the project in compliance to DAWEO policies and procedure, and donor requirement.
- Monitor individual consulting, vocational training, literacy courses, psychological counseling, support from beneficiaries’ problems, provision of services for children and protection from referral cases.
- Ensure regular follow up of the reintegrated survivors by caseworkers.
- Monitor (FRC) staff including case workers, nurse, psychologist, vocational trainer, legal and psychosocial counsellor, and other staff members.
- Reviewing files, checking stock and review and verifying purchase requests.
- Regular monitoring of food quality, and cleaning services of (FRC)
- Ensure all project activities are implemented in timely manner according to proposal and log frame.
- Insert beneficiaries’ information into database.
- On call coverage 24/7 during the unofficial time, weekends, holidays as needed/designated/directed by the program.
- Ensure that project procurement is made according to DAWEO procurement policy and procedures.
- Perform any other relevant assignments/duties that might be assigned by immediate supervisor.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Business Administration, Project Management, Leadership or Political Science.
- At least 2 years of experience in a project management /team lead function for Legal Aid / Justice and Judicial Services Technical Support
- Has experience in at least two (2) projects as manager in the field of management and leadership in Bamiyan province and is fluent in Dari and Pashto Languages with strong proficiency in oral and written English.
- An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
- Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
- Working knowledge of Ms. Office Package and IT skills.
- Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
