Fostering Resilience in Afghanistan through Multi-Sector Emergency Support (FRAMES): Medair is implementing fostering resilience integrated project in Daikundi Provinces of Afghanistan. Selected vulnerable families Medair’s WASH activities aim to reduce the vulnerability levels of family members to water-related and other preventable diseases and have access to safe drinking water and establish WUC for the sustainability of the project. direct cash transfers to vulnerable families will increase economic access to local markets for essential food commodities. Medair’s Nutrition project seeks to respond to the elevated induced malnutrition cases through the provision of quality of lifesaving, services for the treatment of acute malnutrition in children under five years, pregnant and lactating women, as well health care. Job Description

OVERALL PURPOSE:

Warehouse Assistant functions required to ensure that warehouses, spacing measurement, distributing stock in and out, and reporting in Nili Office are well maintained, transparent, efficient and follow Medair’s policy and guideline

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Medair is implementing an integrated project in Daikundi Province of Afghanistan. Medair’s WASH activities aim to reduce the vulnerability levels of family members to water-related and other preventable diseases and have access to safe drinking water. Direct cash transfers to vulnerable families will increase economic access to local markets for essential food commodities. Medair’s Nutrition project seeks to respond to the elevated induced malnutrition cases through the provision of quality of lifesaving, services for the treatment of acute malnutrition in children under five years, pregnant and lactating women, as well health care. Behaviour change communication will strengthen the interventions of all proposed sectors and mainstreamed protection will ensure project activities are meaningful, accessible, and safe for beneficiaries.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

  1. Warehouse Management:
  • Fill stock orders and receive inventory
  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse, ensuring that infection control measures are followed at all times, maintaining high level of cleanliness and monitoring temperature/humidity.
  • Ensure goods are safely stored and stacked, to minimize damage and enable first in/expired, first out procedures [FEFO], and prepare the stock management documentation including using proper bin cards, stock cards, waybills, registers
  • Ensure that the condition and expiry dates of drugs, medical supplies and supply food ordered are properly checked regularly.
  • Ensure that all medications are stored in the correct manner using principles of FEFO to ensure high quality of medications and safety of patients.
  • Ensure in-coming supplies are cleared with the waybills and enrolled in the storeroom stock correctly
  • Conduct proper physical stock counts monthly or as determined by the Medair Project Support Manager
  • Provide weekly stock reports
  • Provide quarterly stock consumption reports to the Health Managers
  • Report all issue of stock rupture and expiry drugs to the Sn. Logistic Officer and Project Managers
  • Assist with reasonable additional duties after appropriate training and as requested by Project Support Manager, Health Manager or Health Project Officer.

 

  1. Logistics Duties:
  • Assist the Logistics team in preparing and receiving Waybills, ROGs etc.
  • Assist the Logistics team in tracking PRs and other orders.
  • Assist the Logistics team with any other reasonable task.
  • Remain flexible to assist in other duties or other administrative tasks as required by the line manager.

 

  1. Staff Safety and Security:
  • Ensure personal understanding of Medair Standard Operating Procedures
  • Comply with Medair security procedures at all times, remaining aware of the security situation in the warehouse at all times.
  • Report any security incidents of concerns immediately to the Project Support Manager.
  • Report any issues regarding workplace practices to the Project Support Manager.
  • Ensure the warehouse is properly locked and secured when the warehouse is closed.

Job Requirement

Vocational qualification:

  • Higher Diploma in Logistics, administration or other relevant subjects.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy

 

Work experience:

  • At least 1 years of post-qualification work in a similar position
  • At least 1 years of post-qualification work in a similar position

 

Languages:

  • Good English and Dari
  • Language skills (written and oral) will be tested in the interview
  • Excellent in English

 

IT:

  • Good skills with MS Word and Excel
  • Experience using scanners, copiers, and file naming systems
  • Excellent MS Office skills

Work Conditions:

This position is based in Daykundi, and is a local contract. Successful candidate is expected to provide for their own accommodation in Nili and daily transportation to the office. It might be required to travel across Daykundi province or to other Medair locations.
