About ADWSO: Afghanistan Development and Welfare Services Organization (ADWSO), an Afghan Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) operates in Afghanistan since December 2008. ADWSO’s priority sector areas are Child Protection, Capacity Building, Rule of Law and Women Empowerment.
Job Description
- Support the leading of Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CPAoR) Working Group monthly meetings and ensure timely and coordinated action to address the child protection needs of affected populations; actively participate in coordination meetings organized by other agencies e.g. Government, UN, NGO, INGO in support of children and gender at national and subnational level.
- Establish and maintain an information management network in accordance with CP guidance minimum standards to facilitate humanitarian information exchange and the promotion of data and information standards; work with Social Workers, Case Managers, Provincial Coordinators, volunteers, Community Mobilizers, Communities and other sectors to ensure a smooth transition of information tools and services; engage with UN, NGOs, government to ensure that information of the activities are well coordinated and consistent with standards and practices; and regularly update the KoBo toolbox/ the CP Information Management System (IMS) and conduct mapping of the existing partnes on regular basis.
- Cary out data analysis for advocacy, planning and implementation, permitting prioritization of child protection related response activities, considering age, gender, disability and other diversities of the affected populations; measuring progress against the agreed results, and develop a dashboard updated weekly from the system with necessary disaggregation of age, gender and diversity.
- Conduct regular field monitoring visits according to requirements and plans then report back with the findings to ADWSO management, UNICEF and other relevant actors.
- Design, develop and manage databases, spreadsheets and other data tools related to CP section; understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency and comparability; consolidate operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, management or other related field e.g.Psychology, law, social work or relevant field, or equivalent qualification.
- Significant professional experience of at least 2 years, including experience working at a management or technical level in child protection with non-governmental organizations.
- Excellent understanding of the child protection sector, particularly issues related to child protection and gender in emergencies, case management, family separation, and mental health and psychosocial support.
- Proven presentation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
- Fluency in English and local languages (Dari and Pashto) verbal and written, required.
- Strong overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.), and office technology equipment.
- Be able to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environments and travel to the northern and north eastern provinces and districts.
