About TLO: The Liaison Office (TLO) is an independent Afghan non-governmental organization established in 2003, seeking to improve local governance, stability and security through systematic and institutionalized engagement with customary structures, local communities, and civil society groups. TLO’s main areas of focus are (i) Research/Analysis using the do-no harm approach; (ii) Dialogue Facilitation; (iii) Access to Justice; and (iv) Environment and Natural Resources Management and improvement. In addition to the TLO headquarter in Kabul, the organization has a regional office in Paktia-Southeast, provincial office in Khost, and multiple project offices across Afghanistan, with over 117 staff.

Job Description

  • Conducting Interview following the questionnaire from students and their parents;
  • Collect student difficulty assessment data in close coordination with education team;
  • Data verification after field visits and finalization for submitting;
  • Attend data collection training, study the questionnaire and understand them thoroughly;
  • Visit each student without exception, make sure information entering into device are verified;
  • Specific field work and primary data collection through CommCare app, and ensure the safety, proper use and timely return and take care of all devices;
  • Submit the collected data to related team leader at the end of each day to review and submit it;
  • Must be flexible and available to conduct field visits anytime and travel to targeted districts /communities;
  • Must be able to conduct in-depth interviews, and able to collect high quality data;
  • Identify, document and report issues during data collection, and coordinate field visits with responsible departments and teams;
  • Communicate with M&E and EMIS department if any issues arise during data collection in the field;
  • Any other task assigned by line supervisor;

Job Requirement

  • Couples are encouraged to apply for the above-mentioned position with required experience and qualification
  • 12th graduate and bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least 2-3 years relevant work experience
  • Fluent in Pashto and Dari; knowledge of English is plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work long hours in the field
  • Familiarity with various types of data collection method and tools
  • Ability to travel to targeted district and communities
  • Ability to learn quickly and meet the deadlinesPlease submit complete applications including:
