Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

Generic Responsibilities:

Ensure adherence with CiC – Street Child policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines

Prepare and develop status reports as required by management

Ensure proper filing of documents

Promote and share ideas for technical improvement 

Specific Responsibilities

Develop project/program communication products in liaison with project teams (especially Case studies and Human Interest Stories) ensuring adherence to CIC policies.

Ensure the availability of quality photos and videos related to project activities to serve as internal and external communication products

Initiate, develop press releases and media products as needed and requested.

Develop and maintain list of media contacts and establish professional media relationships for CIC.

Produce communication and information products including annual/quarterly reports and initial drafts of articles for strategies, reports, press releases, newsletters etc in collaboration with program staff.

Conduct regular media monitoring for relevant updates, share analysis periodically with line manager, general management team and staff, either through writing or by presentations.

Job Requirement

Professional Competencies:

Bachelor Degree in related media and communications or similar (preferable not mandatory).

Excellent command over English (written and verbal) with the ability to write in a professional and creative manner.

Fluency in Pashto and Dari, both written and verbal (mandatory).

Strong and documented writing skills writing for humanitarian or development organizations .

Strong experience in photography, videography and other visual arts etc.

Experience in producing varied communication products.

Experience with organizing communication and media content.

Experience in using a variety of social media platforms.

Experience in building relationships.

Strong communication, coordination and representational skills.

Strong and documented experience in working with social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

Previous documented experience in working as a Media or Communications in a humanitarian/recovery context.
