About Marie Stopes International Afghanistan: Marie Stopes International Afghanistan (MSIA) was established after registration with government of Afghanistan in August 2002. MSIA follows the global mission statement of MSI, which is children by choice not by chance. Our focus is to contribute in reducing maternal mortality ratio, providing quality and sustainable MCH/RH and family planning services and information across all provinces of Afghanistan in coordination with Ministry of Public Health, Afghanistan. Job Description
Medical procurement officer is responsible for procurement of medicines, medical equipment’s and laboratory reagents based on MSIA channel’s standards and needs.
Coordinate and liaise with stock officer in Medicine and medical equipment warehouse management based on MSIA standards and procurement Policy.
Monitoring expiry dates of all medical commodities in Head office and
clinics stock in order to avoid waste and to consider the rational use of drugs.
Monitor and ensure that all medical products are kept in appropriate temperatures and proper storing conditions.
Organizing and having proper filling system.
Carrying out quantification and analyse all clinics and laboratory requests on a year or six month base.
Collect and maintain all the clinic stock (stock in, stock out, consumption) summary reports at the end of each month,
Consolidate the transactions in Head office software in the monthly base.
Monthly consumption report of all program to finance and line supervisor
Lead and conduct reconciliations and physical inventory in quarter base.
Monitoring and supervision of clinic stocks and dispensaries (Kabul and other provinces)
Coordinate Purchase requisitions (PR) medicine and medical equipment based on clinical requirements.
Distribution of medicine and medical equipment to all channels based on procurement manual.
Update all medical commodities rates based on update purchasing PO
Develop Good received Note (GRN) from medical /FP products.
Coordinate with Health support research team to conduct internal QTA of all channel’s warehouses and dispensaries.
Other responsibileties:
Logical stock record management
No stock out of the clinics and buffer
The annual stock forecast and plan
Ability to also work independently to achieve result
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels
Demonstration of initiative and self motivation
Team Working to meet organization requirements
Confirm the receipt of the medical supplies with the provinces if the stocks are received as per the dispatch and GIN list.
Keep the list of returned (broken and expired medicine) and ensure quick decision is made based on the guideline.
Process the expired medicine disposal based on MSIA disposal policy.
Perform other activities assigned by line supervisor.
Job Requirement
Bachelor degree in Pharmacy /Pharm - D
3-5 years of experience in pharmacy
Experience in providing high level technical advice to Clinics medical Section
Experience of using MS Office packages like Ms. Word, Excel, Power point etc.
