Job Requirement
About Afghanistan Legal Research and Development Organization:
ALRDO is looking for a female legal advisor/consultant to manage and implement Afghan Women Judges Association (AWJA) project.
The followings are some of the main responsibilities of this position:
Support AWJA with women integration and participation in the justice sector; plan, arrange, and implement events/workshops for Afghan Woman Judges Association AWJA members and assist the ALRDO team in developing the training packages, including methodologies, procedures and modality for effective trainings; Monitor legal and legislative developments, and propose reforms to existing and draft laws related to mandates of the ALRDO; Closely working with members of AWJA on the 5 years strategic plan, arrangement of AWJA general assembly, building fair communication network, and establishment of committees and submit monthly activity reports to Director/Deputy Director based on ALRDO reporting requirements;
The legal advisor will be responsible for providing legal assistance, organizing various legal activities, creating legal documents, translating of legal documents from English to Dari and Pashto and vice versa, and advising the Director/Deputy Director of ALRDO on all the relevant legal issues;
Communicate with ALRDO stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organization;
Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization;
The selected candidate should be able to visit the ALRDO office voluntary for at least two weeks to closely work with the current legal advisor on handing over process. The process will include but not limited to:
- Transfer of all hard and soft materials related to the project
- Introduction to the project related stakeholders, AWJA members, Supreme Court and Ministry of Justice
- Adoption to the new environment and colleagues
- Participation in some possible AWJA workshops for introduction and other necessary arrangements

Language Skills:
Excellent written and spoken English language skills, including report writing. Excellent command of written and spoken Pashto and Dari including report writing. Having knowledge in other languages would be an asset..
Work Experience:
Prior experience and knowledge of working on women rights, women networking, women capacity building, developing, and implementing women awareness campaigns and community outreach programs on the rule of law would be an advantage
