Job Description
ARM Consulting is seeking experienced Livelihood Expert/Agriculture Specialist to join our team in implementing a multi-year third-party monitoring (TPM) contract for a leading UN agency across Afghanistan's 34 provinces. The Expert will primarily play a leading role in monitoring the performance of agricultural and livelihood projects. The Expert will primarily play a leading role in monitoring the performance of agricultural and livelihood projects.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct desk reviews of project documents
- Perform on-site evaluations to verify compliance with the required standards
- Engage with local communities and project stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on projects' impacts;
- Participate in the briefing meeting with the relevant UN agency to understand their expectations of the monitoring missions and improve understanding of the context and the project;
- Preparing inception reports for monitoring missions;
- Preparing fieldwork schedules;
- Conducting in-depth interviews with the project implementation team members at the national and provincial levels, beneficiaries, community leaders, and other related stakeholders;
- Holding validation workshops with UN Agencies and project implementation team members to validate the draft key findings and finalizing the report;
- Conduct field assessments to identify challenges and opportunities in agricultural practices and SME development within the project area.
- Provide advice on Implement partners’ performance vis-à-vis crop selection, soil management, water conservation techniques, pest control, and the use of new agricultural technologies.
Job Requirement
Please ONLY apply if you meet the following requirements:
- A master’s degree in M&E, economics, business administration, agricultural economics, agriculture, or other related fields.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in M&E, livelihood development, SMEs, or agriculture.
- Fluency in spoken and written English (please note that this is a key requirement for the job. Please only apply If you feel you have a high command of the English language - both written and spoken)
- The ability to travel to provinces for field monitoring (This is a non-negotiable requirement)
