Context: Under the overall supervision of the Shelter and Non-Food Items (SNFI) Programme Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Senior Network and Systems Associate and technical supervision of Head of Information Management (IM) the Project Associate will support the SNFI programme through information management, data collection tools, and data quality control as per the below listed responsibilities
Job Description
- Assist in implementing information management tools and systems related to the SNFI programme.
- Support the development and updating of data collection tools to assess programmatic needs.
- Ensure beneficiaries data is consolidated into one database and is up-to-date; identify missing data, report discrepancies in the data and follow up with relevant Field Coordinators to maintain the quality of data entered into IOM databases.
- Support the implementation, and administration of database information systems for processing information related to the SNFI programme, adhering to
- Support in providing beneficiary lists and data for SNFI response and activities, including cleaned data for internal/external reports.
- Assist programme staff with technical difficulties regarding the database and information management; conduct related training sessions.
- Provide technical support in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
- Perform daily data quality checks of the database, report issues, and track changes on KOBO Toolbox.
- Engage with field team members to determine best practices and client software requirements.
- Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and improving existing software solutions.
- Assist in reviewing and updating technical guidelines, user manuals, technical reference, training material, for the software applications supported by IOM.
- Perform other duties as required by the program, contributing to the overall success of information management initiatives.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related fields with two years of relevant professional experience in information management or related, preferably within humanitarian or development contexts.

- High School diploma with four years of relevant professional experience in information management or related fields, preferably within humanitarian or development contexts.
Experience
- Experience with data collection tools, such as KoBo Toolbox, for managing and processing beneficiary information.
- Working knowledge in data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and experience with GIS tools like ArcGIS for effective presentation of data insights.
- Understanding of database concepts and practices, including experience with MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar database management systems.
- Familiarity with web technologies and frameworks, including C#, ASP.Net MVC/Core, Angular, and jQuery, JSON is considered an advantage.
SKILLS
- Proficient in managing and analyzing data, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout information management processes.
- Strong skills in data collection methodologies, quality control practices, and ensuring the accuracy of collected data.
- Expertise in advanced Excel functions, including data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas for data manipulation and reporting.
- Ability to provide technical support and training to colleagues on data management systems and tools to enhance the team's capacity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Good analytical skills, capable of interpreting complex data sets and making informed decisions based on analysis.

Languages
- For all Applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
- Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required.
- Fluency in all national language(s) are highly advantages.
