Job Description
Job Purpose:
- The Afghan Winner International (AWI) requires a site manager to oversee the provision of consolidated camp management services at various field offices across Afghanistan. The Sit Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services including general cleaning, laundry, ground maintenance, pest control, waste management, and other related activities.
- The purpose of this TOR is to define the roles, responsibilities, and requirements for the Site Manager to ensure high standards of camp management and service delivery in line with UNAMA’s operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
The Sit Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:
Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate effectively with other sections and departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain clear and professional communication in English with related sections.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts related to service delivery promptly.
General Cleaning & Janitorial Services
- Oversee daily cleaning and janitorial services for all camp facilities.
- Ensure that all areas are maintained in a hygienic and presentable condition.
Laundry Services
- Manage and coordinate laundry services for camp residents.
- Ensure timely and efficient laundry operations.
Ground Maintenance
- Supervise ground cleaning and gardening services.
- Ensure proper maintenance of outdoor areas, including lawns, plants, and other green spaces.
Fumigation and Pest Control
- Coordinate and supervise fumigation and pest control services to ensure a pest-free environment.
- Maintain records of pest control activities and follow-up actions.
Solid Waste Management
- Oversee the collection, segregation, sorting, and disposal of solid waste.
- Ensure compliance with waste management protocols and environmental regulations.
Operation of Waste Management Equipment and Yards
- Manage and operate waste management equipment effectively.
- Ensure proper upkeep and organization of waste management yards.
Liquid Waste Management
- Supervise the collection and disposal of liquid waste.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
Miscellaneous/Porter Services
- Coordinate office and accommodation movement issues with related sections as needed.
- Manage miscellaneous porter services efficiently.
Monthly and Ad-Hoc Gardening Services
- Provide regular monthly cleaning services and gardening.
- Address any additional gardening requirements as they arise.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain a detailed logbook of all activities, including cleaning schedules, inventory, waste management operations, and service requests.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with UNAMA’s requirements.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on service delivery, inventory levels, and other relevant metrics.
Job Requirement
- A university degree in Engineering or Business Administration or related field and at least six (6) years experience in project management: relevant fields such as facilities management or operations and maintenance services.
- Expertise in camp management and related services.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage inventory and maintain accurate records.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a UN or international context.
- Highly developed communication skills, including fluency in English and local languages.
- A problem-solving approach to managing situations, with resources to others where required.
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize workload, work to tight deadlines, and operate calmly and professionally under pressure.
