About AFV - Afghanischer Frauenverein e.V. مؤسسهٔ نهاد زنان افغانستان: Afghanischer Frauenverein e.V.: AFV is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political humanitarian aid organization registered with the Ministry of Economy in Afghanistan and has been working in the field of Education, Health, WASH, Vocational skills development, and humanitarian emergency response in Afghanistan since 1992. With a Country Office in Kabul and over 200 local staff members countrywide, AFV is implementing sustainable relief programs that are mainly in the rural areas, focusing on supporting children and their families in extreme poverty. Today AFV is engaged in over 21 relief programs serving over 200,000 people per year all over the country. The organization provides technical and financial support to five schools in Kabul, Kunduz and Ghazni provinces; runs vocational training courses for people with disability in Kabul and Ghazni; provides safe drinking water for poor communities in remotest parts of some provinces; supports seven Basic Health Clinics (BHCs) in Kabul Province; and delivers humanitarian assistance particularly in partnership with other local partners.
Job Description
About the Roshani School:
Founded in 1999, the Roshani Girls' high school is a private school located on the outskirts of the provincial capital, the Ghazni city. Around 550 girls from the city and several surrounding villages attend the school. The school provides quality education to the students; and the Ministry of Education has been cooperative in many areas including teacher training programs.
Major Responsibilities:
- The English teacher is a vocational educator in the field of English Language and relevant skills.
- Creates lesson plans that are appropriate for abilities of the participants in the class.
- Evaluates participants performances in class, asses their abilities and need then provides feedback for improvement of participants.
- Provides appropriate resources and learning materials for students.
- Identifies varying teaching methods that work best for participants who learn differently.
- Develops and updates curriculum for the classroom.
- Encourages creativity in participants.
- make sure some extra materials are prepared for participants.
- Maintains an orderly classroom stocked with appropriate supplies.
- Runs the classroom within the allocated budget.
- Pursue a variety of active methodology in teaching and instruct students effectively.
- Conduct teaching and instructional activities, using educational equipment, materials, books and other learning aids.
- Provide group and individual instruction to motivate participants and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities.
- Maintain and record data and report as required by supervisor.
- Evaluate progress of each student, flag student problems, and provide monthly reports to AFV Management.
- Able to work overtime on weekends or holidays required by the supervisor or program
- She is required to be adaptable for larger tasks not specified in this framework.
- She will be back up for absent teachers of the school in her morning shift and will conduct English class after school time.
Job Requirement
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, master is preferred at related sector.
- 3 Years of experience in related field.
- Completion of computer course (office program);
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in teaching of English Language;
- Demonstrated knowledge of children learning and facilitation methods;
- Excellent written and spoken skills in English, fluent (written and spoken) in Dari, and Pashto
