About TLO: About TLO: The Liaison Office (TLO) founded in 2003 as an Afghan non-governmental organization (NGO) that emerged from a Swisspeace pilot project (supported by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung) with the aim of improving local governance, stability, and security through systematic and institutionalized engagement with customary structures, local communities, civil society groups, and government institutions. TLO is based in Kabul, with regional offices in Paktia, Khost, Kandahar, Herat, Mazar, and Nangarhar and additional field offices across Afghanistan. TLO works to achieve its objectives through key program activities: research and analysis, dialogue facilitation for peacebuilding, access to justice and governance, humanitarian assistance, third party monitoring and evaluation, and environment & natural resources management.
Job Description
VOICE OF THE AFGHAN PEOPLE - VAP is seeking to hire a competent candidate based on the criteria described below for the position of IT Officer and Graphic Designer who will be working under the direct supervision of the Sr.Admin/Finance Officer.
Information Technology
- Configuration of servers in the main office as well as in the different networking projects.
- Contain regular backup of data from all departments.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment in coordination with the Admin/Finance Department.
- Responsible to control email accounts for termination and activation and security related to the accounts.
- Responsible for Defining all Functionalities and features required website.
- Responsible for Defining and document all required reports, statistics, analysis and results needed by the project and then posted on the website.
- Strictly follow the organization existing security policies, procedures and daily instructions of the safety personnel.
- Developing dynamic web applications from scratch to end in PHP and other programming languages.
- Work closely with Website Content Developers and perform website Content Management.
- Responsible to Manage Domain registration and Website hosting related tasks with Website hosting and domain registrant authorities including email services;
- Full knowledge and experience in both hardware and software of servers.
- Upgrade and maintain VAP website and ensure that it is updated on a regular basis with current information about the organization. Website to be upgraded once per year to improve functionality and visibility.
- Graphic Design
- Take part in quarterly and annual work planning of the unit in close coordination with the Public Relations Officer in team.
- Development of knowledge products and provide designs of infographics, video clips, posters, brochures, banners, business card, and websites for office and during VAP events.
- Undertake graphic designing in support of all publications intended for printing and sharing outside the organization.
Contribute to team effort by undertaking additional tasks and responsibilities as requested by seniors
Job Requirement
- Proven 5-6 years working experience in IT and web development
- In-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, PHP Frameworks (CodeIgniter, Laravel);
- Good understanding of Content Management Systems (WordPress and Drupal);
- Solid understanding of web applications including security, session management, and best development practices;
- Adequate knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems, Object Oriented Programming, and Web Application Development;
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools, and troubleshooting;
- Familiarity with designing applications (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator);
- Experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) integration with a Website through APIs
- Videography and Photography skill during the events will be an asset.
- Knowledge with IT Cloud System (Practical IT Cloud experience is preferred)
- Knowledge of Cyber Security and leakage prevention
