Job Description
Seeking a candidate with the ability to translate live English speech to Dari/Pashto and translate text or videos to Dari/Pashto. Responsibilities include crafting high-quality foreign reports, generating story lists, conducting investigations, adhering to editorial standards, and making on-air appearances for interviews and live reports. Versatility in writing, translation, and on-air presence is essential.
- Translation of reports from Dari/Pashto to English and vice versa.
- Live interpretation of meetings/sessions in Afghanistan.
- Coverage of conferences, meetings, and gatherings conducted in English.
- Writing Foreign reports.
- Making a list of stories and follow-up
- Preparing quality foreign stories.
- Gathers information and facts; develops stories; writes articles.
- Investigate, observe, and conduct interviews to gather information for articles.
- Writes articles and headlines; prepares copy for publication.
- May take photographs or video footage of objects or places of significance.
- Gathers and verifies factual information regarding the story through interviews,
- prescribed editorial style and format standards
- Appear on television programs when conducting taped or filmed interviews or narration.
- Give live reports from the site of the event or mobile broadcast unit
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirement
· Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, English literature, or related field required.
· 2-3 years years of working experience is required in a relevant field.
· Excellent writing and editing skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent research skills.
· Excellent Pashto, Dari, and English Spoek Skills.
· Ability to conduct interviews and gather information.
· Excellent typing skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or similar software.
· Proficient with desktop publishing software.
