About CPMO-NWARA: The General Water Resources Directorate (GWRD) has been recently assigned to undertake widely studies, advanced data analysis, improvement of database system and develop water information management system in the NWARA. To meet its intuitional mandate, WRD has carried out internal assessment and identified capacity gaps in multiple areas including flood management, drought monitoring and forecasting and lack of water information management system. The Water Resources Directorate would like to seek its partners support in recruitment of one intern positions to involve young and fresh graduated water resources engineers for 12 months to carry out a situational analysis of river basins and provide factual report and recommendation for future partnership on Panj River basins and sub-basins data management and sharing develop procedures for data and information exchange and sharing, institutionalize consistent information sharing mechanism to prevent overexploitation of the shared water resources and also promote efficient information sharing.

Job Description

  • IT interns are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels.
  • The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability
  • Setup and maintain cloud environment (networks, routings, compute. File system, logging) during the system development;
  • Assist in Developing Web-based Groundwater Information System (GWIS);
  • Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies;
  • Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.

Skill and Responsibility

  • Ability to implement, maintenance, upgrade and troubleshooting IT setup and services including personal computers, internet equipment (Various Access Points [Mikrotik, Tp-link]), printers, scanners, projectors;
  • Ability to create and maintain virtual networks with virtual networking environment with both type of architectures hosted and bare-metal;
  • Experience with Linux OS to implementing deferent type of open source servers such as (DNS, DHCP, web servers, VPNs, deferent type of backup solution software, firewalls and etc…);
  • Working with deferent operating systems such as Windows, Linux (different distribution systems types) and Mac OSX;
  • Excellent knowledge of Internet Information Service(IIS) and Apache Server;
  • Basic knowledge of Aquarius Server;
  • Implementing and assigning software base(open-source) and hardware base of firewall, and assigning security policies in the network base on the organization needs
  • Installation, maintenance, update and troubleshooting all computer related software and applications including operating systems, open-source firewalls, Software updates
  • Experience in web development programming language, backend (PHP, Python(Django), HTML, CSS, JavaScript);
  • Basic knowledge of database, including knowledge of SQL, PostGIS, and related data stores such as Postgres;
  • Basic knowledge of Content Management System applications specifically WordPress and GeoNode;
  • Experience working with Linux/UNIX, Docker and Microsoft Azure;
  • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
  • Skills of working with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good English skills for report writing.

Job Requirement

  • Fresh graduate from Computer Science, Information Technology, Communication and Operating System;
  • Knowledge of CCNA and MTCNA; Basic knowledge of MIS and GIS
  • Knowledge of open sources software, programing languages and libraries (especially Python (Django framework) for development and promoting of geospatial web-based platforms
  •  Female Candidate are highly appreciated.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English, Dari and Pashto.
  • Ability to work with MS. Office Package.
