About JRS: JRS (Jesuit Refugee Service), founded in 1980, is an international organization with a mission to accompany, serve, and defend the rights of forcibly displaced people. JRS facilitates involvement by individuals and communities and promotes regional and global co-operation and networking on behalf of refugees.

Job Description

  • Responsible for JRS programs together with the Project Director/anyone designated in his/her operational area.
  • Supports Project Director in the implementation and monitoring of the project.
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of JRS in the implementation of programs.
  • Meets regularly the JRS staff of his /her area; discusses the programs; shares his/her expertise and experience; contributes to their capacity building; and encourages them.
  • Makes periodic visit to the site, monitors the progress of programs and encourages the staff of JRS.
  • Conducts a planned orientation program to the new recruits before sending them in to works.
  • Plans the various trainings /Workshops /seminars for the staff in consultation with the Project Director.
  • Prepares the quarterly narrative report of the programs and submits to the Project Director.
  • Helps the Project Director to prepare annual action plan and budget.
  • Represents JRS in the interagency meeting held at his/her operational area.
  • Collaborates and cooperates with all section of JRS office for the smooth functioning of the office and of JRS programs.
  • Conducting on-going assessment, training session for teachers.
  • Mobilizing community-based activities such as awareness programs in coordination with the Project Director
  • Regular Monitoring of the project sites and in consultation with the PD providing feedback to the teachers/staff.
  • Conducting monthly meetings for teachers/teachers

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor degree in Humanities from any university (at least 2 years of work experience in teaching English and/ or Coordination),
  • Good English writing and speaking knowledge, and capability to operate computer.
  • Fluency in the two main Afghan languages, Pashto & Dari (writing, speaking and comprehension).
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
