Job Description

  • Supervising/Monitoring JRS Afghanistan programs based on the project plan.
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of JRS in the implementation of programs.
  • Monitors the progress of programs/projects through monthly reports submitted by the Project Coordinators and updates the Country Director on the areas of concern observed.
  • Conducting orientation for staff, organizing capacity building trainings and planning and coordinating program related activities, if necessary.
  • Monitoring proper project implementation in conjunction with the Finance Officer & Project Coordinator.
  • Helps the Country Director to prepare annual project plan and budget. Constantly updates the context of the project through review of secondary sources.
  • Prepares the proposal formats for various donors.
  • Evaluates the ongoing program and proposes innovative ideas for better outcomes.
  • Prepares quarterly, semi-annual and annual donor reports in required format.
  • Verifies the data and report for the government agencies in Afghanistan, prepared by the Project Coordinators, on a quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis.
  • Reviews the monthly stories/report for the newsletter as well as website content.
  • Reports and is accountable to the Country Director or to whoever he /she might authorize and abides by the terms of appointment, code of conduct and the job description.
  • Participates in the training programs organized by the Regional Office towards capacity building in the field of MEAL or proposal writing/report writing.

Job Requirement

 Minimum of a Master in developmental studies/ relevant field.
•    A minimum of 3 year experience in a similar position involving data collection, documentation, and reporting
•    Demonstrable experience in producing good quality documents for different audiences and managing Community development programs and livelihood programs.
•    Ability to collect, analyze and produce good quality data and information tables and reports
•    Computer literacy with possible advanced Ms Word, Ms Excel, and Ms PowerPoint.
•    Demonstrated experience in capacity building and mentoring of staff
•    Knowledge, skills and experience in participatory survey/research methods  
•    Experience in use of data to inform decision-making, planning, and performance monitoring
•    Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation skills.
•    Ready to work in difficult environmental conditions
•    Must be flexible and culturally sensitive.
