About Labor Spring Organization: The Labor Spring Organization (LSO) is a non-governmental non-political and non-profitable welfare organization that aims to foster a prosperous, educated, and self-sustained society through the elimination of violence against women, socio-economic empowerment initiatives, human rights awareness programs, justice provisions, and education, enabling the communities to access their basic rights. With a focus on central and northern parts of the country, LSO has implemented over 32 humanitarian and development projects in Afghanistan. The organization's thematic areas include emergency response, natural resource management, small-scale enterprise development for women, agriculture, irrigation, social services, and the promotion of women's rights, peace, social cohesion, and governance. The mission of LSO is to protect and secure the human rights of women, girls, and underprivileged people to practice self-esteem, self-determination, and their actual roles in all life spheres, including politics, economy, environment, and culture. The organization operates in four provinces in Afghanistan and currently has three functional offices in Kabul, Daikundi, and Bamyan.
Job Description
The Advocacy Specialist shall be responsible for advocating and lobbying with the relevant stakeholders to improve public participation in IDP/ returnees’ issues and find solutions to the problems identified by field-level staff and/or management colleagues. In addition, the officer will be responsible for conducting action-oriented dialogues, advocacy & negotiation workshops on IDP pressing issues as well as delivering training and holding conferences and workshops on IDP-related issues and public participation issues.
Job Requirement
Education and experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in public/policy administration, business administration, political sciences, public health, or any other relevant field is required. A master's degree will be preferred. 2-3 years of working experience in public administration. Work experience in advocacy and transparency especially in law, education, and advocacy, is preferred.
- Excellent research and writing skills;
- Experiences of event management and conducting workshops and conferences;
- Ability to translate documents in English Dari and/or Pashto;
- Excellent computer skills of Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Result-oriented and able to deliver within tight deadlines;
- Willing to work overtime if requested by LSO management.
