Job Description

The Education officer is responsible to assess the assist education coordinator in overall implementation of the project on field level (such as following up project implementation plan, coordination with relevant stakeholders, leading and supervising CMs, assessing capacity gapes, identify and address field level challenges and to assist field coordinator in collecting data and generation of progress and need-based reports. The education officer will specifically perform the following tasks and duties;

  1. Assist the education team in establishing appropriate systems to implement the Education activities in partnership with communities and district education authorities
  2.  To assist the education coordinator to establish and strengthen the coordination between all stakeholders in particular with SCI, PED, DEDs and Education cluster groups.
  3. Manage technical issues of the project in the field and report expenditures based on project proposal and budget work plan to the education coordination.
  4.  Assist the project field staff in planning, Implementation and supervision
  5.  Ensure regular supervision of field staff and program activities/ facilities through development of supervision plans and timely report to the education Manager.
  6.  To set up appropriate after getting advice/ and consultation with the education Manager in monitoring and evaluation system for different levels in whole catchments area.
  7. To collate field staff weekly and monthly activity reports and submits provincial report on time to line coordinator/ manager.
  8. To prepare the project weekly, monthly, and any other required progress reports to the line supervisor
  9. To assist the education coordinator in improving the project field staff’s knowledge, practice and behavior through meetings and on the job trainings
  10.  Ensure the education program coordinator recording and service provided is in line with DoE standards.
  11.  To carry out other necessary tasks as and when requested by the education coordination.

Job Requirement

BA/MA (preferably in education) or any other relevant field of social science/Islamic studies/law/ sharia with proven working experience in education field/projects

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • At least 3 years of work experience in the implementation of education programs/projects especially as education officer/coordinator/ master trainer of CBE project with proven experience in assessing capacity gapes, developing learning material and delivering training workshops/ skills - (preferably work experience with National and International NGOs.)
  • Very good spoken and written Pashto, Dari – understanding of English language is considered as a good asset.
  • Good communication, coordination, and presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Good working skills on computer i.e. Microsoft office (word, excel, power point).
  • Excellent in report writing (preferably in English) and conducing assessments
  • Ability to work independently in the field.
  • A good team player & problem solver.
  • Excellent in report writing (progress report)
