Job Description
NOVE is seeking a highly qualified Administrative Assistant to contribute to the success of a
project focused on agriculture, food security, and livelihood support for the vulnerable
Afghan population. The position is based in Kabul and will be crucial in ensuring efficient
financial and administrative management of the project.
Job Requirement
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management:
- Oversee the financial management of the project, ensuring compliance with local and
international financial regulations.
- Collaborate with the Local Project Coordinator in budget preparation and expense
monitoring.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare periodic financial reports according to the donor’s requirements, in
collaboration with the Local Project Coordinator.
- Ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Coordination with Local Project Lead and Expatriate Project Manager:
- Work closely with the Local Project Coordinator and the Expatriate Project Lead to
ensure efficient flow of financial and administrative information. He will also liaise with
the HQ administrative officer when needed.
- Address any operational challenges related to financial management.
Accounting Document Management:
- Maintain and organize accounting documents in compliance with organizational
policies, regulations, and donor’s requirements.
- Ensure availability of documentation for audits and monitoring.
Coordination and Reporting to local authorities:
- To coordinate with local authorities in project adminstration i.e preparation and
submission of letters and reports to the relevant stakeholders with the support of the
proejct coordinator.
- To get project activities confirmation letters from the local authorities.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related
field. The degree must have been obtained at least 6 years ago.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in financial and administrative management of
projects, preferably in development or emergency contexts.
Specific Skills:
- Thorough understanding of local and international financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate with various internal and external
stakeholders.
Language Skills: Fluent in Dari and Pashto; excellent knowledge of the English language.
Field Visits: Laghman, Nangarhar and Kunar
