Job Description

The Freelancing Trainer Specialist will be responsible for introducing participants to the freelancing job market, and relevant applications, and guiding them on how to search and work in this dynamic and flexible employment avenue. He/she works closely with Workforce Development staff and participants and reports directly to the Program Manager of Workforce Development or his/her designee.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a curriculum that introduces participants to freelancing opportunities and platforms.
  2. Provide insights into the freelancing job market, including trends, demand, and potential opportunities.
  3. Conduct hands-on sessions on computer basics, Microsoft Office applications, email etiquette, and digital document management.
  4. Conduct hands-on sessions on online job labor applications such as Upwork, Freelancer, and Fiverr to guide participants in navigating these websites.
  5. Guide participants in creating profiles on freelancing platforms and effectively marketing their skills.
  6. Conduct practical sessions on navigating freelancing applications and securing freelance opportunities.
  7. Collaborate with other trainers to integrate freelancing skills with broader career development goals.
  8. Assess participants' progress through regular evaluations and adapt training methods accordingly.
  9. Organize online meetings to address participant queries, share additional resources, and reinforce learning.

  • Ability to respond to emails, calls and online meetings on a timely manner
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good reporting skills including compilation, analysis & presentation

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business administration, or relevant fields.
  • Proven experience in freelancing or as a freelancer.
  • Familiarity with freelancing platforms and the gig economy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to guide participants in building effective freelancing profiles.
  • Knowledge of marketing and branding strategies for freelancers.
  • Familiarity with online training platforms and resources.

 

Computer and other skills:        

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Freelancing Platforms: Familiarity with platforms such as Upwork, Freelancer, Fiverr, and Linked In.
  • Social Media Platforms: Understanding how to leverage social media for freelancing opportunities and personal branding.

Languages:

  • Excellent speaking, writing and understanding of English and Dari are required.
