About Company
About HADAAF: Introduction of the Organization: HADAAF is a National NGO, established in April 2006, registered with MoE under registration No. 514. HADAAF is working with Health, WASH, Nutrition, livelihood and Child protection but mainly involved, working in health/nutrition sector since 2007. HADAAF have experience in implementation of BPHS and other vertical health support projects of long and short duration. HADAAF implemented BPHS in Nuristan and Zabul provinces in partnership with IMC (2007-2011) and Cordaid (2013-2019) respectively. HADAAF also implemented long term health support projects (Support to CBHC, PPP, Nutrition, integrated WASH and Nutrition, malaria/TB control and capacity buildings of health staff) in Urozgan, Nuristan, and Kunar provinces. Currently HADAAF is implementing health projects (Mobile Health Teams, Mobile Health and Nutrition teams, Fixed PHC, CBNP, C-WIFS & MNP and Covid-19 response support) projects in Nangarhar, Balkh, Khost, Paktia, Ghazni and Helmand provinces. HADAAF has adapted a strategic approach of partnership and collaboration throughout its program implementation. Thus far, HADAAF has implementing projects/programs in partnership with MoPH, IMC, UNICEF, WHO, FHI 360, Health Net TPO, UNDP, Save the Children International, Swedish Committee for Afghanistan, Johanniter International Assistance and Cordaid in Nuristan, Urozgan, Ghor, Farah, Kunar, Laghman Kabul and Khost provinces. This collaborative approach has enabled HADAAF to get access to hard-to-reach areas and implement quality service delivery.
Job Description
A Nutrition Promotor (NP) is a community-based and community-selected individual who mobilizes her/his community to promote positive change and discusses the issues communities face in accepting and promoting positive behaviors in their community during community sessions.
- Capacity building of community structures and other frontline workers:
- Conduct orientation or training sessions for community members/actors on key SBC and AAP packages.
- Community engagement and social mobilization:
- Conducting and facilitating follow-up meetings with community influential people and networks within the communities.
- Conduct and facilitate community engagement sessions with households and communities on life-saving behaviors as well as healthy and protective behaviors related to health, nutrition, WASH, education, and child protection.
- Tracking collecting and sharing the rumors from the community
- Conduct/facilitate the AAP interventions and social listening activities:
- Provide information about the availability and utilization of services to communities
- Inform communities about the available mechanisms and channels to provide feedback on available services
- Engage community structures/ key influencers and communities in collecting/responding to community feedback.
- Co-facilitate conducting mass campaigns:
- Raising awareness, mobilizing, and engaging community structures and communities in communication activities on Nutrition issues during campaigns.
- Reporting and documentation of interventions:
- Prepare activity report according to the established format and submit it to his/her supervisor.
- Identify the best success stories of SBC interventions, collect testimonies from beneficiaries, and submit them to the supervisor for further documentation.
- Monitoring of interventions and coordination:
- Monitor and supervise the Nutrition promotion interventions and ensure the implementation of the activities based on the plan.
- Follow up on the distribution of relevant supply to households.
- Ensure local coordination and collaboration with key actors (s) such as the de-facto authority, CSOs, and others.
Job Requirement
Qualification, Experience, and another requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in the fields of social and behavioral science, public health, sociology, anthropology, psychology, education, communication, public relations
- At least 3 years of experience in implementing relevant interventions
- Skills in documenting activities (writing short articles, activity reports, taking pictures...).
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a result-oriented manner under demanding working conditions, often with short deadlines.
- Should be basically from Nangarhar province and belong to the community where he/she resides and be trusted and respected within their community.
- Ability to read, write, and speak local language/s and English language literacy is also preferred.
- Willing to move in the specified area of the targeted districts.
- Strong demonstrable interpersonal communication skills.
- Gender male and female (one male and one female for each targeted districts). Better to be couple (MOHARAM of each other).
