About Social and Humanitarian Assistance Organization: Social & Humanitarian Assistance Organization (SHAO) is a non-government, non-profit humanitarian social welfare organization. SHAO is registered as an Afghan NGO with Ministry of Economy (MoEc), Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. SHAO was founded on 22 January 2009. SHAO is based in Kandahar and has implemented projects in the Southern, central and northern regions of Afghanistan. SHAO has implemented projects in child protection, community education, gender equity, WASH, health/hygiene, capacity building, livelihood and advocacy. SHAO is currently working in different provinces of Afghanistan, mainly focusing on mitigating the effects of COVID-19, internal displacement, cross-border illegal immigration on the vulnerable communities. With the ensuing situation in the country SHAO has targeted its programing focus on child protection, gender mainstreaming and youth participation.
Job Description
BACKGROUND & Rationale
SHAO: Social & Humanitarian Assistance Organization (SHAO) is a non-government, non-profit humanitarian social welfare organization. SHAO is registered as an Afghan NGO with Afghan Ministry of Economy (MoEc). SHAO was founded on 22 January 2009. SHAO is based in Kandahar and has liaison office in Kabul.
Social and Humanitarian Assistance Organization (SHAO) signed low-value grant agreement with UNDP NCCSP Program on 21 November 2023 to improve the livelihoods of the 60 most vulnerable households by rendering the disabled or female family leaders with the skills of detergent manufacturing skills. The project intervention will also include the linking of these house-holds with upstream and downstream value-chains of detergent procurement and supply market.
JOB SUMMARY: Small & Medium Enterprise Marketing & Accounting Mentor will support the project beneficiaries in acquiring the necessary skills, knowledge and information to establish a small & Medium size Enterprises (SME), planning and implementation of marketing plan and establishment of simple accounting system
Job Requirement
The main responsibilities and duties of the SME Mentor are to:
- Develop manuals, if necessary
- Develop activity work plan, evaluation papers and other necessary templates
- Develop presentations and visual aids for the project beneficiaries for affective learning;
- Organize group works and brainstorming sessions;
- Organize practical demo-sessions.
- Organize educational visits of the relevant sites for practical demonstration of enterprise registration and business license acquisition
- Organize practical examination sessions for project beneficiaries to practice and evaluate their skills.
- Provide mentor and advisory support to beneficiaries during the initial phases of their production.
- Develop reports as advised by project manager
