Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the workshop supervisor, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

• Perform timely repairs and periodic services on Light vehicles and equipment.

• Perform timely repairs and periodic services on Trucks and trailers.

• Perform preventive maintenances on vehicles and equipment when required.

• Assist in evaluating the usage of all spare parts, oils, and lubricants.

• Inform the workshop clerk and storekeeper of all spares and lubricants sued in vehicles repairs.

• Report any faults discovered during maintenance and /or repair of a negligent nature to the workshop manager so proper action may be taken.

• Maintain a log of all repairs for record purposes.

• Travel to field /sub offices to repair vehicles and generators as required.

Ensure safety precautions are always observed.

• Assist in dismantling and reassembly of vehicles requiring the fitting of anti-mine/ballistic blankets as required.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the workshop.

• Assist in the supervision of junior staff while undergoing training.

• Will perform any other duties as requested by immediate supervisor

Job Requirement

  • Technical High school or experience of minimum 5 years in private workshops
  •  At least 3 years of experience in workshop maintaining vehicles and trucks. 
  • Works in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  •  To service, maintain and repair all types of Light/Heavy vehicles, Trailers, and Plant equipment in a safe, efficient, and economical manner, deploying requisite skills and expertise. Working to the highest standards without close supervision to achieve an acceptable level of work throughout whist always maintaining quality standards
