Job Description
Job Summary
The Social Mobilizer will work closely with communities in target provinces in order to facilitate the environment for the beneficiary selection process and community-level coordination, conducting meetings, planning and reporting, distribution, and data collection process under the direct supervision of the project officer and program.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with the community elders and CDCs in selecting the target communities.
- Contribute to the achievement of project’s results the follow-up of activities.
- Select the vulnerable families within the targeted areas as per selection criteria.
- Formation and functioning self-help group.
- Preparing business plans for the project beneficiaries.
- Working closely with established SHG groups and centers in target communities and project rightsholders.
- Arrange capacity building training for self-help group leaders.
- Generate savings and self-help credit for self-help groups.
- Beneficiary’s selection, distribution and gathering of the beneficiaries for training sessions.
- Travel to the field in all target districts of Herat province on a regular basis.
- Report regularly on project activities and update the progress of project implementation.
- Mobilize the community and beneficiaries and provide them awareness regarding the project activities and assistance they are going to receive.
- Create and maintain good relations with faith leaders and village elders for the smooth implementation of the project.
- Prepare work plans schedules and reports for all activities.
- Any other official-related tasks may assign to her.
Job Requirement
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, disaster management, community development, or any other related field.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ professional experience in social mobilization or any other related.
- Demonstrated experience in livelihood-related projects is preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good writing and communication skills in English and local languages Dari and Pashto.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior experience and excellent understanding of working in livelihood context.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and skills in social mobilization and organization and proven ability to work in livelihood projects.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, and effective in representation.
- Able to respond rapidly to changing environments and work under pressure.
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of Dari and Pashtu preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and diplomacy skills.
- Be able to visit all project locations in target province.
