Job Description

JOB Purpose:

This is a full-time, grant-funded drug dispenser position for FCPA project based in Herat province. The drug dispenser should be fully committed and responsible in medical stock located in the health center to raise the medicine requests, delivery & store the medicines, RUFT, RUSF, LNS from office to the center, good keeping/arrangement system, using pharmaceuticals properly, the drug dispenser should execute the pharmaceuticals according to the recommended prescription and take serious care of the proper maintenance of the pharmaceuticals in the health clinic in accordance with the below Job description.

The qualified successful candidate in this position will be engaged a lot with patient especial males, delivering the medicines, loading/loading the drugs/heavy cartons with all other arrangement in the project pharmacy stock in the health canter. Due to mentioned responsibilities and the major tasks in this JD, it is preferring to have a male employee to continue this role.

Job Requirement

Major Responsibilites: 

  • Responsible for the efficient running of the project pharmacy stock with keeping accurate documentation and calculation of drugs in the health centre.
  • Make sure to provide monthly request/order for essential medical, RUTF, RUSF & LNS according to the need before the shortage and keep all the waybills/GRN in the health centre.
  • Keep the drugs in a good condition according to the pharmaceutical protocols and ensue to consider the alphabet and FIFO or FEFO order.
  • Provide drugs to the patients according to the prescriptions and register them in the pharmacy book and stock reports in daily base and ensure the physical inventory occurs once a month.
  • Try to put the drug in a labelled plastic bag and consider the name of the drug, the dosage and the direction of usage.
  • Give the health education to the patients on the usage and safe keeping of the drugs based on the prescription.
  • Analyses drug consumption patterns from the MD reports to develop standard drug supply systems to prevent stock ruptures, misuse or wastage and provide report to the pharmacy coordinator, health assistant and MD in the health centre.
  • Ensure the availability of all supplied drugs and items with specification before signing the receipt form of pharmacy team in each single supply.
  • Preparing and updating of the emergency box of the pharmacy on monthly basis according to the list.
  • Notify the drugs with short expiration date and report it to the health centre MD and health assistant, and make sure to send them back to the office pharmacy warehouse three months before the expiry.
  • Liaise with the pharmacy coordinator and health assistant and ensue the delivery, storage of drugs, RUTF, RUSF & LNS supplies occurs from office to the health centre.
  • Make sure to keep update always the medical stock balance and provide the weekly/monthly reports to the relevant supervisor.
  • Adhere to WV Child and Adult Safeguarding policy and standards.
  • Any duties assigned by relevant supervisor.

 Required Professional Education and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of working experience in pharmacy stock/store
  • Knowledge of BPHS and HMIS
  • Diploma of Pharmacy from recognized medical institute 

 

Preferred Knowledgeand Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in Dari, Pashto & English
  • Strong capacity building & facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of child rights 

Travel and/or work environment recquirement:

This is 100% designated field job in Herat province and travel to the project targeted FCPA areas.
