Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE.
To support AKF’s CD department towards facilitating the growth and development of the civil society (Local NGOs) by implementing the GRASP-UN-WOMEN funded project, extending needs-based support to AICS the sub-partner of GRASP, and partner Local NGOs and supporting the grants management unit on behalf of the CD department.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Closely follow up with the GRASP project partner LNGO on project implementation progress and provide regular guidance to the organizations.
• Regular monitoring of LNGOs activities and provide the technical inputs and report work progress CD Regional Manager, Civil Society manager-NPO.
• Track the GRASP sub-project progress against the phase wise implementation plan and share feedback with LNGOs against any deviation from the plan.
• Regular visit the local NGO offices and provide guidance where required.
• Support AICS and MERL teams while conducting baseline, endline surveys, monitoring visits, and in collecting, assessing, and analyzing information from the project areas.
• Prepare and submit timely Quarterly report as per National Manager Civil Society guidance and as per specified templates.
• Responsible for controlling and budget spending of LNOGs regularly to ensure AKF and donor compliance in terms of transparency and accountability. Report any mismanagement, Untransparent financial transaction if observed to regional CD manager and Civil Society Manager at NPO.
• Liaise and network with partner agencies and provincial departments at the provincial level if applicable.
• Take up other need-based roles and responsibilities when required.
• Attending meetings at regional level and NPO level when required
• Closely follow up the partner LNGOs and AICS for organizational development progress and regular mentor and guide the organizations to ensure the planned trainings are conducted on time.
• Ensure functional management information system for the civil society sector both at NPO and regional level.
• Ensure monthly, quarterly, annual, and any other required progress reports and compliances of data in coordination with CD and M&E
• Regular monitoring and evaluation of Local NGOs activities and provide the technical inputs.
• Drawing out and documenting lessons learned and best practices.
• Attending meetings, workshops, and conferences as necessary as an AKF representative
• Directly reports to Regional CD Manager, and work closely with National Manager Civil Society NPO
• Participate in GRASP related and -AICS meetings, events as guided by lines Managers.
• Communicate and coordinate between Local NGOs, AKF, and AICS, as focal point directed by line managers.
• To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to protecting children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
• Track the development of local NGOs against the set OPI indicators.
• Provide assistance in collecting, assessing and analyzing information from the programmed areas.
• Provide support to Regional CD Manager, and National Manager Civil Society at NPO, in tracking, monitoring of GRASP project progress, and preparing report for AKF, Donor and other relevant partners if required.
• To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to protecting children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
• Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner that reflects the commitment of the Aga Khan Foundation office to protect vulnerable children and adults in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy and Child Protection Policy.
• Report any suspected breach of the Safeguarding Policy and/or Child Protection Policy as instructed.
• Carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to protecting children in accordance with the AKF Child Safeguarding Policy and advocate for the rights of children.
• To report any suspicions or actual violations of the Safeguarding Policy and and/or Child Safeguarding Policy as per the given training.
OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To Maintain a good organizational working relationship with, AICS, Local NGOs and other AKF'A’ departments, regional offices and AKDN sister organizations.
• Take up other need-based roles and responsibilities.
• Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor.
DECISION-MAKING & AUTHORITY
• Overseeing the progress and implementation of GRASP project phase wise implementation
• Collect related data from the Local NGOs related to organizational development for future improvement and analysis.
• Visiting Local NGOs offices for tracking their operational level activities.
• Supporting the line manager for different tasks and development
• Updating the database MIS, keep track of LNGOs.
Job Requirement
JOB SPECIFICATION
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or human resource development or another related field.
• Ability to interact and coordinate with CS&G staff, AICS.
• At least 3-5 years’ work experience in the same field with national and international organizations
• Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written directions.
• Effective skills in report writing, presentation development skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of computer (MS office package) advance knowledge in developing of database is preferred.
• Excellent English language skills •
• Excellent National languages skills (Both Pashto and Dari)
• Be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
