Job Description
General Position Summary
The IT and Admin Officer will be based in Kandahar to provide technical support and ensure the proper functioning of ICT equipment, software, and network to meet office needs and demands in coordination with the ICT Manager. In addition, S\he will perform all administration duties to support the office in terms of day-to-day activities of the office. S\he will work under pressure and be comfortable prioritizing and handling multiple demands on his/her time.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Hardware and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in all types of PCs, Laptops, Servers, Printers, Tablets and Copiers.
- Read, understand, and implement the MCA ICT Systems Policy. Orient staff on appropriate use and monitor to ensure adherence to these policies.
- Joining all computers to Azure AD using Intune agent tools.
- Maintain, follow up of the network system and remove the errors whenever occurred in IT system.
- Maintain the file server, Routers, WAPs, Switches, P2P Wireless equipment in the office & guest house.
- Take and monitor the soft data backups of the office staff according to schedule & direction given by ICT Manager.
- Orient program and operation staff on the use of MS Office365 applications, MS Team, MS. SharePoint and data storage in the cloud.
- Monitor users for misuse of ICT Software, Hardware, and Internet, and report to ICT Manager.
- Repairing and troubleshooting basic hardware problems of office-wide computer systems, Printers, Scanners, Tablets and other electronic equipment.
- Maintain proper documentation of all IT equipment including system profiles, warranties, and IT stock/accessories; Organize and maintain central filing system of all ICT systems in MC office.
- Identify equipment and accessories required for the smooth functioning of ICT system in the office.
- Facilitate the purchase of ICT items through the Procurement Department.
- Prepare and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all computers, I/O devices, and software existent in the office.
- Installing and maintaining CCTV NVR, cameras, and other accessories.
- Perform smooth flowing of routine, administrative work of the Mercy Corps office and program support operations.
- Responsible for the smooth running of the office functions: photocopies and mail services, translation services, telephones, and faxes.
- Responsible for maintaining a supply of all admin documents and making them available for all MC Kandahar staff; and maintaining filinfiling stem.
- Responsible use and confidentiality of any information identified as sensitive.
- Other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirement
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of three years’ experience in information technology with international NGOs.
- Diploma in IT/Network or relevant University degree in computer science is desirable.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 is desirable.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure AD and MS Intune is desirable.
- Knowledge and usage of MS Team & SharePoint is required.
- Knowledge of Laptop, PC hardware and software configurations, win 10, 11, and MS Office 2016/M365
- Knowledge of Network Protocols, LAN & WAN hardware, and software configuration.
- Should have practical experience of cabling, Wired, and Wireless networking.
- Should have knowledge of Wi-Fi Standards, Channels and SSIDs.
- Should have knowledge of DHCP, DNS, Firewall, security protocols and Mail Servers.
- Knowledge of Mobile Data Collection such as Open Data Kit (ODK), GIS and GPS are an advantage.
- Familiar with Tablets, smart phones application and configurations.
- Familiar with cloud computing and online flatforms; especially: Google Suite, MS SharePoint as well as with computer documents, letters, sheets, formats etc.
- Knowledge and experience of data security and protection.
- Good expertise in administration of office
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Excellent Inter-personal and general communication skills.
- Knowledge of CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR, fingerprint (biometric system) is required.
- Good spoken and written Pashto and English.
