Job Description

The Duties and responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Keep the vehicle clean and maintained at all times.
  • Perform preventative and regular maintenance on vehicle.
  • Follow route and time schedule assigned for all locations.
  • Drive vehicle for official travel and business, or as assigned by Logistic Officer.
  • Observing the road and traffic laws and regulations of Afghanistan Government.
  • Ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to including local driving codes and internally agreed standards.
  • Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times.
  • Ensure the vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.
  • Prepare and submit vehicle monitoring reports, including records of vehicle operations, and log books, maintenance, expenses, mileage, at the end of each month.
  • Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, etc.
  • Deliver important documents to required destinations.
  • Help international staff during arrival and departure for luggage holding and other heavy necessities.
  • During free times, assist the cleaner in checking the facilities and rooms after each 30 minutes, and report any incident(s) immediately to supervisors to ensure right action is taken by project team.
  • Contribute to creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children and adults and compliant to WCUK’s Child Safeguarding and Adults at Risk Policies.

Job Requirement

Person Specification

War Child in Afghanistan operates in a dynamic environment with a team of highly motivated and dedicated staff. The right candidate will share these qualities and bring effective leadership to a diverse team. The successful candidate will be creative problem solver and foster a solution-based approach to management.

 

Experience and Required criteria:

  • High school certificate.
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience with INGOs
  • Have Valid Driving License
  • Proficiency in Persian and Pashto languages are highly essential, [i.e., Reading, writing and speaking]
  • Patient and with a good understanding of humanitarian and development work.
  • Commitment to and understanding of War Child UK values.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and
  • Willingness to work in emergency situations and during odd hours, weekends and holidays when require Patient and with a good understanding of humanitarian and development work.
  • Hardworking and able to work with people from different backgrounds.
  • Honest and accountable.
