About KIA Research & Development Company: KIA Research and Development Company is a for-profit, non-political, and non-governmental organization that is incorporated with the Afghanistan Ministry of Commerce and Industry under registration number D-03-1119 dated January 1, 2011. KIA focused on providing small, medium-sized, and corporate businesses with ISO certification, FSSC 22000 certification, Organic certification, ISO lead Auditor Trainings, Researches and Surveys (Base-line and End-line Evaluation), Business Development, Capacity Development and Building, and Project Management services. It also implemented other capacity building projects and provided advisory services to governmental and non-governmental organizations. KIA, a subcontractor of USAID/DAI/ACEBA in Afghanistan, will implement a three-stage project to implement the HACCP and Traceability Systems in DAI/ACEBA Saffron Business Partners’ in Herat & Balkh Provinces by hiring and managing qualified food safety specialists. The project's goals are to improve the culture of food safety, implement the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice),
Job Description
Within the saffron business partner, the food safety specialist will be in responsible for the following responsibilities and duties.
- Carry out a thorough evaluation of the business's existing food safety and traceability systems.
- Prepare the full-assessment report of the business partner.
- Develop an in-depth corrective food safety action plan.
- Develop a quarterly food safety corrective action plan.
- Assist the business partner in implementing the HACCP system completely.
- Prepare a monthly report.
- Develop a capacity development plan for business staff and conducts in the class and on the job training.
- Set up the traceability system with the business
- Mentor overall the food safety tasks of the business partner.
- Conduct a trial harvesting fresh saffron and evaluate the business partner's readiness.
- Regularly meet with the management of the company partner.
- Conduct and complete the company's internal audit.
- Regularly meet with the food safety team leader.
Job Requirement
- Master in Food Technology/Bachelor in Food Technology (Preferably with a master's degree.)
Experience& Skills:
- At least 3-4 years of experience in Food Safety related tasks
- Fluent in speaking and writing Dari, Pashto & English languages
- Familiar with computer and office packages
- Planning, and prioritizing skills
- Honest, Motivated, tolerant, active and well mannered
- Strong Interpersonal & communication skills
