About NSIA(Gov): National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) was established in the year 1351 as an independent governmental entity to create an integrated national statistical system ensuring harmonization and coordination of all statistical and information management activities of the country. In 1397 and 1398, new mandates were assigned to NSIA including geospatial information management, information systems management, and identity management. NSIA strives to enhance management and coordination amongst the government entities in establishing a well-integrated data management ecosystem.
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Mobile App Senior Developer will work in close collaboration with the directors’ and senior technical team in developing native and cross-platform mobile applications and solutions for government entities;
KEY TASKS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The recruited incumbent will support the work of the National Statistics and Information Authority and will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Lead the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support);
- Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean and efficient code;
- Work in close coordination with the information systems design and analysis teams in gathering user requirements and suggest relevant solutions for mobile applications development;
- Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions and troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance;
- Design interfaces to improve user experience for the mobile applications;
- Liaise with information systems design and analysis team to plan and implement new features;
- Ensure new and legacy applications meet quality standards and assure compatibility of the developed applications across different platforms;
- Research and suggest new mobile products, applications and protocols;
- Deploy the developed mobile applications to the platform markets for download and usage;
- Support organizing and conducting capacity building programs for relevant technical units of NSIA;
- Support and promote the use of innovative technology solutions in the government sector;
- Any other tasks assigned by the line manager and/or team lead.
Job Requirement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Master's degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or a related field of study;
- Bachelor degree with seven years of relevant experience or master degree with five years of working experience;
- Strong experience in developing mobile applications in Android and/or iOS;
- A broad understanding of current technology developments, solutions, and tools;

- Ability to exhibit strong qualification and professional experience in the relevant disciplines;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and national languages i.e. Dari and Pashto;
- Ability to work with and be a partner of a team of diverse backgrounds;
- Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines and work overtime when required;
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment inspiring trust and cooperation of other team members;
- Strong communication, negotiating skills, and good interpersonal relations.
