Job Description
Purpose
Working alongside the Protection Data Team, the Protection Data Administrator will play a critical role in ensuring that information is processed in a way that allows for Protection colleagues at all levels working in the different locations and files prioritized by the delegation to provide the best possible follow-up to Protection beneficiaries and concerns; endeavoring to keep action as effective and relevant as possible while ensuring overall coherence within institutional Protection reporting.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Performs varied data processing independently, notably tasks related to data entry and basic analysis in the Protection database such as:
- crosschecking, comparing and entering information from multiple data sources
- transferring data from forms into corresponding programs
- updating information concerning individual files and personal data as well as conducted follow-up
- Understands and applies the underlying data model within Protection (RFL, PCP, DET and FOR) information processing and adheres to related data entry procedures, ensuring follow-up and updating are in line with specificities of different files and databases
- Helps with standard data quality checks and gradually develops additional tools and checking mechanisms pertaining to the context in order to ensure overall quality data management
- Analyzes and critically questions information available in the database
- Liaises with colleagues in sub-structures on documentation where needed
- Contributes actively to the daily Management of the Protection Office, including with regards to the protection and security of individuals’ personal data
- Translates documents received from authorities from English to Dari/Pashto and vice versa when needed
Job Requirement
- Strong interest in and commitment to the humanitarian mission of the ICRC in Afghanistan
- Experience of 2 years+ in data entry, management, and analysis
- Excellent command of English and Pashto/Dari (strong asset if both Dari/Pashto)
- Professional degree in Computer Sciences/IT/other relevant field or equivalent experience, advanced degree in Computer Sciences/IT a strong asset
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (knowledge of SQL and report builder a strong asset)
- Experience working within an international environment, ideally with an international organization or NGO, an asset
- Willingness to acquire a firm understanding of the ICRC and always represent the organization in a professional manner; commitment to adhering to the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement as well as the ICRC Code of Conduct, staff regulations and security rules at all times
