About Bost Organization for Development: Bost Organization for Development came into its formal and legal existence as a nonprofit non-governmental organization in 2018. BOD is a composite of several expert groups with diverse expertise in the field of social and economic development. The formation of BOD was inspired by the need for an organization that is comprised of dedicated and passionate development experts. BOD is registered with the ministry of economy under license number: 4477. The scope of its activities includes the implementation and facilitation of development programs in agriculture, economy, education, infrastructure and people development. BOD was founded with the purpose of addressing challenges associated with rural community development; sustainable education, life skills, clean water, sanitation, healthcare and vocational training for underprivileged rural citizens. BOD was formed as response to the social and economic needs of the community; BOD deals with the present socio-economic problems in different villages by means of good understanding issues and finding sustainable and community led/driven solutions.
Job Description
Major Responsibilities:
Note: The following are the duties and responsibilities performed by employee in this position. However, incumbent may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Individual in the position may not necessarily perform all duties listed.
- Oversight and management of the BOD’s operational directorate comprising of administration, finance.
- Assist the directorate in attracting and recruiting qualified staff, collecting CVs and qualified applicants and assist in hiring process, starting from the recruitment till the termination phase; this may include developing job descriptions, job specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, short listing, interviewing and selecting candidates.
- Responsible to establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of Financial Management and accounting procedures in accordance with Afghanistan government and other stakeholders.
- Develop the monthly, bi-annual and annual operating budget and consult with senior management on the fiscal aspects of program planning.
- Preparing complete sets of documents, invoices, bills, etc… ensuring the proper name, date, stamp, and supportive documents. Filing and labeling of all financial documents both electronic and hard copy format through a clear and concise reference system.
- Ensuring that the financial records, files, reports, agreements, and other related documents are properly maintained and safeguarded.
- Ensuring a comprehensive administrative and financial system in BOD that is relevant and up-to date to BOD’s dynamic needs and adequately address donor/government reporting requirements and BODs own financial & management information.
- Ensuring that expenditures are adequately tracked according to the agreed budget in close coordination with directorate of BOD.
- Assistance with preparing monthly and annual financial plans, and monthly financial progress reports for the Finance Department.
- Assistance with preparing in a timely manner accurate financial reports as required for internal monitoring processes or for other stakeholders.
- Ability to critically review and improve financial management and expenditure monitoring systems to increase accountability
- Any other function as required by the BOD’s Directorate.
Job Requirement
- A minimum of master degree or a bachelor degree in Business Administration, Financial Management, BCom Finance, Accounting or economics, ACCA qualified or a similar field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years with master degree or 3 years with bachelor degree of relevant work experience in senior administration and financial management positions with NGOs, INGOs or Public/Private sector.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting and be able to implement its relevant systems
- Experience in QuickBooks and MS- Office Package.
- Adequate Knowledge in Nutrition, Food Security, WASH and Protection sectors is a plus.
- Having the required skills in the related technical field.
