Job Description

Union Aid is seeking for a capable Pharmacy Officer for Balkh Office for AU-MI/HEALTH project funded by Malteser International. The Pharmacy Officer has to perform all clerical duties required for the efficient running of the pharmacy for the project of “Basic Health Centers in six locations of Balkh province. The pharmacy officer’s responsibilities include placing orders for pharmaceutical supplies, and operating in and out of the medicines on daily basis. He/she should also be able to receive and unpack new stock delivered by suppliers. Ultimately, an outstanding pharmacy officer should ensure that shelves are properly stocked and organized and that work areas are always clean.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Pharmacy officer is responsible for planning, implementation, supervision and monitoring of the pharmaceutical activities for the health facilities covered by Union Aid in Balkh,
  • The pharmacy officer is responsible for safe and proper storage and supply of medicine and medical equipment for the entire health facilities,
  • Working with cooperative attitude and keep a high standard of quality,
  • Participating in selection, procurement, distribution and implementation of drug use in coordination with management team,
  • Responsible for planning, implementation, supervision and monitoring the Pharmacy related activities,
  • To receive the medical supply and stock it according to the procedures,
  • To follow the consumptions at health facility level, prepare feedbacks on consumptions and prepare report,
  • To conduct training for pharmacists regarding, storage, distribution and rational drugs usages Arrangement and consume drugs confirming to expiration date,
  • To dispense all pharmacy and stock in accordance with procedures,
  • To identify and report problems that interferes in the delivery of services,
  • To work effectively with other team members,
  • Coordinating the drugs and equipment supplies procedures with MoPH policies,
  • To keep the track of pharmaceuticals stocking and supplies to prevent shortage,
  • Ensuring the lab supplies and activities are on line with standards,
  • To supervise and prepare the reports from lab section,
  • To perform any other assignments request by line manager.

Job Requirement

  • Graduate from pharmacy
  • Four years practical working experience in pharmacy with local NGOs or International NGOs,
  • Strong written and fluent verbal communication skills in Pashto, Dari and English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office program and QuickBooks.
  • Good communication skills, team work spirit and capability to respond challenging conditions.
  • Proactive, persuasive, and ability to work under stress and with deadlines.
  • Disciplined, professional, hard-worker
