About Company
About TLO: The Liaison Office (TLO) founded in 2003 as an Afghan non-governmental organization (NGO) that emerged from a Swisspeace pilot project (supported by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung) on good governance in connection to peace and reconstruction or reconciliation process. TLO has since evolved into as an independent Afghan NGO registered under number 611 with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan. TLO was founded with the aim of improving local governance, stability, and security through systematic and institutionalized engagement with customary structures, local communities, civil society groups, and government institutions. TLO is based in Kabul, with regional offices in Paktia, Khost, Kandahar, Herat, Mazar, and Nangarhar and additional field offices across Afghanistan. TLO works to achieve its objectives through key program activities: research and analysis, dialogue facilitation for peacebuilding, access to justice and governance, humanitarian assistance, third party monitoring and evaluation, and environment & natural resources management. The guidelines for these activities are strictly based on the “do-no-harm” approach and Conflict Sensitive Programm Management (CSPM), which are participatory and community-led.
Job Description
- Introducing and promoting the beneficiaries to Afghanistan Cricket board (ACB) and as well as building a network between the beneficiaries and ACB
- liaising and working with relevant organizations or agencies including Afghanistan Cricket Board
- working closely with beneficiaries to enhance their cricket skills
- Manage sport and physical activity development programs specifically Cricket
- Contribute to the development and implementation of sport development plans and other strategies
- Coordinate sport events including cricket matches for the beneficiaries
- Setting up beneficiary’s links between program unit and Afghanistan Cricket board and other sport bodies
- Works with the beneficiaries to promote sport as a healthy activity for young people that can assist their physical and emotional well-being
- Ensures that the behaviour of players in all sports teams is maintained at a high standard and that behavioural issues are followed up effectively.
- delivering high energy, fun and inclusive sessions to ensure every beneficiary is engaged and makes progress, regardless of their ability.
- monitoring and enhancing performance by providing tuition, encouragement and constructive feedback.
- identifying strengths and weaknesses of the beneficiaries and making the beneficiaries aware of developing training programmes for Cricket.
- Development of strong relationships with clubs in the region and supporting the beneficiaries to develop
- Increase the number and quality of development opportunities available to players
- Implement and raise awareness regarding overall ACB - Domestic Cricket Development policies and procedures
- Perform any other task assigned by the management.
Job Requirement
- Have close relation with ACB for providing the opportunities to the new cricket players specially for project beneficiaries.
- A passion for working with children and/or young people
- At least 6 months’ consecutive experience working with 5 – 17 year or more
- Appropriate experience delivering cricket programmed or coaching cricket
- A willingness to liaise with parents, delivering high quality customer service
- A real team player who’s happy to rotate duties and form positive relationships
- At times things change, so you’ll need to be flexible, with a willingness to adapt
- Leadership skills with a vibrant and confident personality
- Possess and able to document (a minimum) Level 1 Cricket qualification (ideally Level 2) through ECB, CPC or UKCC
